  1. Rob,

Thanks for all the trouble you went to…I knew about this but thanks for the effort anyway. Actually, I should have stated that I was looking for a shortcut…like maybe importing an action into the pose relationship (unfortunately I don’t see that option). If the keyframes were just muscle and/or bone but mine also included pose slider settings some these controlling other poses…a bit of a mess, LOL. I got it all copied over, but thanks again for your time.

  2. Hello all,

All of Virtualmedia's models are just heads, below the neck is wardrobe. I wound up using the TMS rig for wardrobe and I guess the Squetch rig (?) for the head. Thanks for the info Robert. Hi John--I used pose slides too when I used the older lip sync (I use Osipa method now). Imagine having to make and use pose sliders for a walk cycle...for myself this easier faster and more natural looking.

    Thanks,

    Rusty

  3. Hi,

I haven’t done much with A:M for years. I need to install a head control rig like the one I installed on the model in the attached image (don’t remember if it has a name) on other models but…lol, that was years ago and I don’t remember exactly how to install this puppy. Is there instructions or a tutorial around somewhere?

    Thanks,
    Rusty

  4. Any info on your p2p resource sharing you care to share in this thread would be of interest to me.

I planned on sharing projects and resources in this way or something similar. I have a Tb of every A:M (or related) resource I could find, download, purchase, create or somehow obtain between 2002 and 2015 (i.e. models, materials, images, tools, plugins, tutorials, mocap files, reference material/videos/images, etc.)...all organized and sorted in folders. This is the 'resource pool' for my…well, kindof want-to-be company Virtualmedia Studios (www.virtualmediastudios.com). This effort went 'on hold' several years ago as I slowly and painfully concluded that I am not really an ‘entrepreneur’...no, not even having to think about stuff like 'accounting' appeals much to me. I’m just restarting the effort now.

The animation assembly line I built (all based around A:M) was, IMHO, pretty cool. For instance, all the resources mentioned above are reflected in A:M's library (a program runs each night to update A:M's library files with any changes made to the resource pool). Hair dos are separate from ‘hair color’ and it is all interchangeable and ‘plug and play’. Face maps (old, young, tan, pale, etc.) are interchangeable amoung character models. Everything below the neck is ‘wardrobe’ (photo-realistic* human characters are only heads and are interchangeable with wardrobe outfits in a standardized, ‘plug and play’ (action invoked) manner.

Whoops, sorry…I got myself started on a subject that I can talk about for days!

    Cheers,
    Rusty

  5. Hi!

Recently I installed the latest version of A:M, it asked me for an activation code which I looked up and entered and A:M started and worked just fine. However, today I got an error message when I tried to start it…something about contacting support. In an attempt to fix this myself I uninstalled A:M and reinstalled it but when I enter my activation code I get an error saying that the activation key is already in use. Looks like I somehow I screwed everything up.

I tried sending an email to support@hash.com an it was kicked back as undeliverable... ???

BTW, I have two activation keys; one for my laptop and one for my desktop. This happened on my laptop. My desktop is undergoing hardware upgrades and, for the most part, is unavailable for a few days so I don’t know how A:M is acting there.

What do I need to do?

    Thanks,
    Rusty

  6. I tried to uninstall v19 then did the v19 install again using the default location. I started and again it asked for an activation code so I found one and entered it...said already in use!! So I copied master0.lic from 18 to 19 and...now nothing will start, LOL! I suspect found an older activation code and screwed it up every which way. I guess I need Hash to send me the proper activation codes (I have one for desktop, one for laptop).

  7. Hi,

Attached is an image of my A:M 19.0 Help->About. I attempted to install and run the latest version (19.0d) and it asked for an activation key. My current subscription expires 17-Jun-2018. Shouldn't I be able to run 19.0d and how do I get my activation key? Sorry, its been several years...

  8. Please, the evening is set aside for A:M and suddenly A:M won't start. Its been that kind of day...the fates are against me today. A:M started on this notebook just days ago. No changes have been made that I can think of (forgot: my wifi went out and I got a new wireless USB card two days ago).

I can't image my year is up (not sure how it works?) or anything like that. If its time to pay...that's no problem!

I've always suspected that because I have multiple cores that cpu id can change but everyone would be running into that...I tried rebooting...tried starting different links.

Oh, because TMS2 needs version AM16 I did install that and copy some license file over so it would start...but I've run A:M 18 since then I believe.

Any ideas? What can I try?

    Thanks!

    Rusty

  9. John,

Yet another question...in the image of the constrains you use for mocap, some bones are not expanded to show what the constraint(s) are used and what the target is. For instance the first bone, 1 left hand attacher and further down, 1 left lower arm, 1 right foot ik tagger and so on. Were these for something else or, are they needed in the mocap setup? If the latter, is there anyway you can get me info on these?

Thanks so much for your help!

    Rusty
