  1. 1) Involve the whole A:M community (eventually).

    2) Use Animation:Master on a large production.

    3) Make a good movie.

    4) Increase the skills of those working on the project.

    5) Improve Animation:Master.

    6) Have some fun, especially by making friends (I know this sounds sappy

but it's what I work off of).

    7) Promote Animation:Master

    8) Educating new customers (schools)

    9) Learn how to do it

    10) Be able to do it again.

  2. One of the things that came up at a Bash breakfast was choosing actor personalities for each character. How will the characters act? For example: John Wayne, Kelsey Grammer, Katharine Hepburn, or some combination. These personalities would dictate the character's speech cadence, their on-screen business (such as Tin Woodman spinning an axe on the palm of his hand), how they walk, etc.

Please list your suggestions and the particular attributes you would like to see expressed.

  3. The volumetric lights have banding when they're partially blocked because the number of samples have been reduced. Increase the value of the volumetric "quality" setting.

(Make sure that you add that reflectivity error to A:M Reports.)

  4. Wow. I really like how clever that format is. It's almost impossible to get people to watch something for long on the Internet but this format makes me want to see what the later frames are going to do, then the page turns and I want to wait for it to finish too. Do another one.

  5. That there sure looks like poster material. I don't know if you intend the final image to be the same camera framing, but the one you have is striking. Render that baby out big and send a copy to Hash. I hope she'll be entered in the "Hero" contest.

As for all the hair work-arounds I'm reading here. What are you talking about: hair has pretty good collision detection. A couple simple examples of it not working like you expect should be submitted to A:M Reports so we can look at it.

  6. Do you know that if you enter your birthday as part of your personal data here on the forum, on the correct day it will show up at the bottom of the forum entry page? I always look to see whose birthday it is. There seems to be a correlation between A:M supportiveness and willingness to put your birthday out there for all to see. I know I only give personal information to organizations I support and trust.

If you are going to include your birthday, include other personal information like where you live and your hobbies - and especially a picture of yourself. That way, other people can better match your postings with you. This is important, because people who only visit occasionally will select to read postings from people they think they know.

I'm writing this because the forum is getting very active. I can probably identify a couple hundred people now but I'm going to need help if we're going to recognize you at a trade show or a user group meeting.

But sometimes its just nice to be anonymous.
