As always man, great work and very inspiring if I might say so my damn self! Great lighting too, what kind of lighting rig did you set up for that, or was most of that fiddling around with the toon shader's thermal gradient with a bit of fall-off?

Thanks all for the compliments and suggestions. That's inspiration enough for me to keep going with him. I've rigged him- though, kind of hap hazardly. I'm having trouble getting the FK/IK to work where when you move a foot forward (like in a basic walk cycle) the whole body moves appropriately with it. Can anybody help me with that?
thx- -N

Thanks luckbat, that's definitely a compliment, considering that's the style I was going for originally....

Hey all, just wanted to share this guy with everyone. His name is Dudley (everyone says, "Hi Dudley"). Anyway, he's a character that I created because I was inspired by some drawings that my 2 daughters did on their Magnadoodles (ages 2 and 4). Hope you like him, and feedback is definitely welcome!
Cheers, Noah

Here's a great tutorial by Yves that goes into adjusting Alpha and Gammas to keep your models looking smooth. Very informative.
Hope this helps:

Thanks for the reply, Steve. One more question, since I already own the prior version of TSM, is this a free upgrade?
thx- -N

This question may have been answered already, but to save time in searching for it...are there any plans on making TSM2 for the Mac on OSX?

Thanks guys for the help. Jeff, I'll give it a whirl and see if it works. It's worth a try. Thanks again.

Hey guys, can anyone tell me how to add 'grain' to an object when rendering? You see I'm compositing this tie-fighter flying under this bridge (which is the bg plate) and the tie-fighter totally stands out. Any suggestions?

Thanks for that, I just checked out those links, and I think that may workout. Judging from the keekat model's tail rig, this looks like how it was done (the octopus tute).
thx again- -N
PS...I'm still open to more suggestions, I'd like to experiment. So if anyone has anything more, please feel free...thx

Hey all, I was wondering... After taking a look at the 'keekat' model and the way the tail was rigged, I thought to myself that this would be a perfect rig for the braids on a little girl character of mine.
Since then, I've been struggling with getting this to work. Down the line I was also interested in using this same technique for her limbs, so that I could get a 'bendy' type of feel, as if I was moving around one of those bendable/stretchable Gumby figures. I'm going for a 'DeeDee from Dexter's Lab' type of animation, to give you an idea of what end goal is.
Any suggestions, or can anyone tell me how to achieve this?
cheers, Noah
