  1. The consolidate sounds like the answer, is the "How To" the reference file or where do I find the info on how to use it Thanks
  2. Thanks for taking the time to reply. I do have a home network, A:M is installed on only one workstation. I have my Dell Inspiron 8600 that I take back and forth to work when I have the time. My home desktop has 3 hard drives. A:M data files are not on the C drive, only the program files are on the C drive. Right now my projects are either super simple or I am taking apart a freebee to see what makes it tick. I can use my USB thumb drive if I need to. I would rather not work the files remotely (desktop has A:M to laptop has data file(s)) as I don't use my laptop much any more. It is sounding like A:M needs to see the same paths after a project is created?? If that be the case do I have an Export / Import option ?? From what I have read earlier, I am under the impression Import/Export is not used for movin A:M between workstations. I guess what I'm saying is I don't want to have to restructure my desktop to match my laptop to make this work. When all is said and done it is getting to look like creating is best done on one device, be it a laptop or desktop.
  3. I need to transfer a project from my desktop to my laptop and visa versa and I am having no success. I am running v 12 on both. I transfer the A:M CD between systems. I have tried doing a search and get a zillion possibilities, and don't have time to search all of them and I am sure this is being done all the time. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance.
  4. Sorry to be so dense about this: I created a folder called it anime_boy. The first time was using WinXP, A:M could not see the folder. So I did a right click in side Actors created a folder right clicked again created a short cut to anime_boy and got a short cut, but it is Thom not Anime_boy. All three files are are in the folder. How do I get the actual model to show??? I'm sure it is something simple I am missing - it always is, but could you tell me what I am doing wrong. Initally I created a folder (using WinXP) in Actors, When A:M did not see the folder I just left it, when I created the short cut I just pointed it to the folder I created in Actors. OR is all the above normal??? java script:emoticon('', 'smid_2')
  5. Well....what a dummy I am. I found the problem, I had some how turned off the, for lack of the correct name, "Show Splines". It is the 4th icon over in the Draw box. For some reason the names are not showing up when I put my mouse over any of the icons. At any rate my problem is resolved. That brings up a question, is there anyplace that shows and labels every icon that A:M has??? Thanks, this has always been a terrific resource. It has certainly gotten big since I started 6 years ago.
  6. Not sure where I should post this, there are sssoooo many places. I did a search but got a million hits. I am probably over looking something simple, but for some reason I am unable to make splines. I hit the "a" key and get the cursor and the "+" but no splines. I have saved and closed, shut down and still no splines. I did open a fresh project and was able to create splines there, reopen my orginal project...no splines. At this point there are no decals, colors or any thing else. I have version 12t. I am creating a StarTrek look-a-like space ship. I have built 3 tubes, and was trying to creat the saucer. Any ideas or do I need to provide more info. Many thanks in advance.
