  1. Thanks all.  I'll muddle through with my Mac until support gets on this.  I worked a bit with it this weekend and it's not as bad as I initially thought it would be.  Granted I'm not rendering any scenes yet, just modeling, but I've got enough tutorials to get through at the moment.  I'll be patient.

Appreciate all the thoughts.  Looking forward to getting the new version up and running on PC though.

  2. Hi all - I've purchased a pc for A:M.  Initially I installed A:M on a Mac (no good).  Now I wish to switch my installation to my pc and have contacted support.  How long can I expect to wait, want to scale my expectations and not be too impatient? - but I am anxious to get going.  I've even thought of purchasing it again and then asking for a refund for the initial purchase if it is going to take too long.

    Thank you.

  3. Took your advice robcat2075 and got the annual subscription.  I'm now looking for a decent used desktop PC.  I registered under Mac but will switch once I get the computer - hoping that won't be an issue.

Wondering if I can still use the old training materials or if the program has changed that much over the years.  Any thoughts?

  4. Since Windows Vista precedes 7 I presume it will run all right ( i have an oldish laptop with this OS).

So, can one bring a newer pc to a tech and have an older version of windows installed on it?  I presume yes....?

Or get a new PC and buy a lifetime license I suppose would be the easiest.

    Thanks for the reply robcat2075!

  6. Odog -

I would also head over to the radiosity section of this forum. There is a wealth of info there and many of your questions have already been both asked and answered there. My "personal lighting study" thread has alot of info (not from me but many others)that address some of the points that Will made re: color of glass, refraction, caustics, etc. Best of luck with your project.

  7. Yeah I still have my "rough cut" saved somewhere. I hope you get back to it, cuz I thought it was going really well. I often wonder the same thing though with my unbelievably long project. What if when I get it complete it sucks? And then i just have to put that out of my mind. hehe

Anyhow, back to your thread. Cool stuff.
