Hi Guys and gals,
I heard that someone is interested to have my model The singing Santa (Nicole).
i'm honoured of this
the model is quite old, materials and maps may be missing and without any serious rigging, but if you want it... no prob
here is the link where you can download the model: http://www.tanassi.it/nicole/Nicole.zip
good job and cheers to everyone... Vince

Hi Luuk and everybody,
first of all WOW, i'm really impressed by your application and count me in the number that will buy the software.
i saw Face Robot from Softimage that uses a similar system of markers and i have to say that, being a pro software, it didn't impressed me so much.
it would be fine to have a real time recording and applying deformation to the model inside A:M, anyway your software works very well.
it will be perfect with eyelids and eye tracking
about the price i think it's affordable, considering that Face Robot costs something like $50,000.
i'll stay tuned for the trial release.

Hi Vince,
I hope you don't mind, but I'd like to use a part of this picture in my upcoming Minnie-Movie Contest. Is that alright?
no worries at all, let me know if you need some other view, more detail, higher resolution
other pose... ops... no skeletal yet

Hi Macb,
sorry to see this only now, i cannot do anything but join the chorus and say: awesome!
beautiful splining, texturing, and feeling of the characters (specially the child).
i'm always looking for the lower possible spline density/more beauty.
and i have to say... you rock, man!
only a lil crit: may be the mother is a bit too photorealistic for that child, or the child a bit cartoony for that mom.
i would go to cartoonize the mom a little (i like cartoons )
bye... Vince

Hi everybody
TA-DAH new tits
John, i'm planning to dress her with may be some latex outfit
Rion Vernon is my favourite cartoon pinup artist too, i checked the Shane site and... wow really beauty stylized girls! i like them!
and btw check this forum drawingboard.org there are allot of great artists, check the girls section
:hello: Vince

I'll bet it did.
OMG not in that sense
and the answer is (not that anyone cares...).... when she sees a good looking guy... how does she... wink!?!?with such eye it's difficult that the guy doesn't see her winking!
(Apologies to Tanassi)no worries Paul
The A:M forum is so educational isn't it.thank you Rod for infos
and now... new tits!
i think it's better like this, don't you?

What was your main inspiration for making this character?
Hi Matt,
mainly... i dont know, i was scribbling while waiting for a rendering, and something popped up when had this image of Dean Yeagle in front of my face.
and i thought to invert the roles in this way
so i decided to make a model of her and create some gag
about Leela i had the same thought.
Hi Jon, thanks, i'll try to move her
-
She's COOL. And she's a 'hotty'... however, she lacks one ability that is esensial to being a 'hotty' but, since she's purple we'll forgive her. Can you guess what it is? ;-)
Rusty
Hi Rusty,
yeah, i'm already thinking to give her a second (or third?) boob, she'll be a real hotty

Hi everybody,
it was for me a long time of absence from this forum, you missed me!
now i want to show you a female (as usual) sexy (as usual) alien (not usual) character.
she will be the main character of a comics story i'm workin' on.
she comes from the planet Klaatunia and has a singular body conformation
some concept first.
and some model images
hope you like her and i thing to do many hilarious gags from her
cheers... Vince

Hi Davie,
nice start and good splining.
i had somewhere in my hard drive images of the same gal, hope they'll be useful to you.
in my (not so great) experience, once i have rotoscoped my images, i had to modify my model, even heavily, to fit my idea of beauty.
this girl seems to be quite nice but, once modeled, you'll see that you want to tweak here and there and go quite far from the rotoscope to have the same beauty of the image.
the rule is: follow your fantasy, don't (always) follow the rotoscope
pesonally i would add some edge loop on the nose-labial crease, especially if you want to animate her.
good luck... Vince

Hey... br... breast?...
are you talking about breast? is there a breast contest? where? when? how?
are there wet shirts?
present! here i am!
good work Brainmuffin, may we see a high-res wire frame?
... Vince
-
fine Colin!
how do you obtain that GI effect?
By the way does anyone know a good program to make your desktop into a slideshow for the PC or even animate it?
on Win XP you can use an animated gif, already tested! but it slow down your computer.

Hi Jake,
really cool animations, congrats

Vince,
Yes, I did...after I took a trip of Eastern Europe we stopped off near Pescara at Francavilla al Mare to see my nonna!
What part did Animation Master, Rhino and Silo play in the creation of this model?
Cheers,
Eugene
Gene,
we could met, Francavilla is not so far from Ancona (my town) a couple of hour of car/train. next summer, OK?
now, technicals.
i used A:M for Nicole , of course, and the whole scene, the piano, the microphone and the curtain.
i have tried to use Rhino to model the microphone, and i did it (10 min), but when imported the mic in A:M i had a disaster of spline, when imported as a prop, i cannot have a good geometry, peaks here and there and no way to fix them.
so i remodeled it in A:M tryng to do the cuts with booleans but it takes too time to render, and the edges were too sharp.
i tryed to model the cuts phisically finding manually all the intersections, also to give to the edges some bevel, this drove me crazy
at this point i applied a transparence map to the body of the mic and here we go. it's not perfect but, that's it.
i used Silo to try to fix some polygon of the mic model from Rhino... i gave up.
BTW: i'm a mechanical designer
some images of the Rhino modeled mic vs. the A:M modeled mic.

That "nude" render reminds me of a surrealistic painting.
oui, je suis le nouvelle Rene Magritte
Very nice
Are you using the same bobyon the girls
what you mean?
perhaps you mean: are you using the same body on both girls?
yes, she's the same girl, i have hidden the dress only.

Hi William,
i'm interested in the process you used to export and refine the model from A:M to STL (i suppose)
how did you fix 5ppatches and hooks? or didnt you use them?
i ask this because i, sometimes, have to export from A:M to STL and i need everytime to do a lot of cleanup about 5pp and hooks. if you dont use them, what's your 5pp-less and hook-less tecnique?
thanks a lot... Vincenzo

thanks to all as always,
Yves: i never quit to believe in Santa... particularly in this kind of santa
yes the shoes don't have soles i didn't plan to do a closeup of them.
the character was intended as semi-cartoon but if you want i can try to give her a more realistic look.
John: i think there's nothing to see in "between", she has no body under the dress.
i have used a simplified rigging needed for a static pose, now i have to give her a more complex skeleton with more controls for animation, may be i'll need some help to do this, thanks.
Hairs... i'm experimenting a lot, i think i need a more powerful computer or graphic card.
Charlie: she IS a natural blonde
Eugene: grazie, did you came in Italy last september?
ciao... Vincenzo

thank you everybody for your kind suggestions,
i'm sorry i cannot respond before but i was quite busy
now i would like to post a link to a fullscreen size image , i don't post it as image because it's very large.
in the next i'll post more images from several angles.
edit: i've attached new hi res images as promised
enjoy

Hi Stian,
very cool car... "Il Tempo Gigante", in italian means "the giant time"
fine GI render effect, how do you obtain it? a light dome?
bye... Vincenzo
-
hi all,
a lighting test
enjoy her
bye... Vincenzo

Thanks to everybody for all the kind comments and suggestion,
about the splineage, i always try to use the fewer number of spline needed, as per Hash philosophy (or cause my lazyness). if the geometry seems to be not sufficent, before to stitch more splines, i try to tweak the bias (alfa/gamma/magnitude in/out) and almost always i reach the result i want. the breast is a clear example of use of bias, and look at the double bend on the left knee. i know, it's a little bit annoyng to tweak the bias in the other half of the model, when you have already Copy/Flip/Attached it, it would be fine to have a command: mirror all the bias settings! don't you Martin? (this purpose it's a little interested)
about the song, i would make her to sing this SONG, don't you? with the voice of the beautiful Diane Krall, of course! (she's my muse )
bye... Vincenzo

hi Charlie,
don't make you keep an hearthbrake...
and think about the fact that she'll be the second of a long series , i want to model females, realistic, semirealistic, cartoon but females, beautiful females, attractive females, pin-ups females, women, girls, and... i'm in love with females and the whole feminine universe.
about the model, i have always problem with hairs, but the breast area?... what about the breast area? i have tweaked a lot to obtain that delicate effect of pushin up, not exaggerated but still visible
OK let me know when your chimney will be prompted, i'll send this Santa to you
the subtitle i gave to this Santa Contest was: THE GIFT IT'S ME! enjoy her!
Happy new year to everyone... Vincenzo

Very nice! And I'm not just saying that because the character is sexy. Looking forward to the animated piece. Reminds me of Jessica Rabbit ( Who Framed Roger Rabbit)
Do you think you post a larger picture. I'm having trouble seeing it. ( Insert Sarcastic tone )
Yes, i have to say i was inspired by Jessica Rabbit (just a little) the character is tipically half cartoon, as you can see. for the animated piece it will need more time, i have another wip i'm workin' on for animation (in my signature: Jazz Singer), this character is not yet rigged for animation but for a static pose only.
about the size of the images, i'm sorry, i've got a 24" monitor and forgot to consider other people may not have such size display, sorry. in the next i'll try to post more little images
bye... Vincenzo

Hi all,
i would like to submit to your attention a model i'm workin' on since few weeks for an italian contest.
unfortunately i was late for the Christmas Hash contest
it will be finished in a few days and i'll pass it in the showcase area.
if you wanna see more work in progress images go to ITALIAN CONTEST
the theme of the contest is: how do you imagine your Santa Claus.
let me know if you have any suggestion or critic, thanks
concept
some wireframe
and some preliminar render

"HUNTER Model" jewel of A:M
in Off Topic
Posted
you are welcome everybody,
i'm just sorry i didn't finish the model as i would. and even the other women models (yeah John a women section would be nice .
this and other models of mine were inspired just from the perfection of the Hunter of Joe Williamsen.
particularly how he managed the joints with "smartskin" and some jiggle in the breast area drived by dynamics... you know what i mean
i would like to answer to Jakerupert: unfortunately i have leaved A:M a little bit apart because i need to work in a pipeline with other people, here (in Italy) none uses A:M. everybody wants poly models, poly models, poly models... no splines
and you know (who tried it) how it's hard to obtain a clean poly model from A:M (hooks, 5pp, weights, materials, maps, decals).
I'm disappointed because A:M is very easy to use to me, but the need to share my models with other people made it impossible work with.
OK, you can be sure that the hellish Autodesk has not received even a buck from me
i would like to do some personal work with A:M but you know... time is short, age begins to show its effect on my neurons, and I can not work with multiple software programs simultaneously
OK, enough with the nonsense, anyway this is not a goodbye but a see you soon, I'll come back from time to time to meet my old friends of A:M community.
cheers... Vince
