  1. With v13, that would be the 2001 Rig. You could use that if you want, but TSM2 or the 2008 Rig would be better. Making your own is an option, but it will take you a lot longer than installing a pre-built rig.

"Screwed up" isn't specific enough to give you an answer about what went wrong...posting the rigged model for others to look at would be the easiest way to get a solution.

ok thank you how do i go about showing a rigged model?\

and also is there a link to the new skeletal model?

  2. Ok so I redid my model of my penguin because for some reason it became corrupt but no matter i like this model better....

I'm having trouble though getting his skeletal structure right though. Cause every time he is in the action tab everything is just screwed up.... any suggestions?? As of right now im using the skeletal rig that came with Version 13 but should I just make one of my own?

here is what he looks likepost-9566-1254251321_thumb.jpg

  3. but for some reason the button that says upload isn't working??

Make sure you are uploading a file that is compatible with the forum.

JPG format is usually a good one for still images.

MOV format is the one you want to use for movies.

After you Browse to your file and Upload hitting the Submit button should place the image in your post.

hmmmm :/ i choose file, and it appears next to the choose file button (test talking.mov) but when i try to press the upload button it doesn't do anything, im a bit confused

    and yes it is quicktime

  4. A step by step of what you are doing might help locate the problem. I'll list what I'm doing:

    1. I open Keekat, double-click on the "Action" folder to create a new Action (selecting Keekat for the Action).

    2. I select the newly created Action, right mouse-click and select "New/Dope Sheet".

    3. When the "Add sentence" menu pops up, I input the sentence I want.

    4. I scrub through the Action to make sure everything is there, then I double-click on the "Choreographies" folder to create a new Choreography.

    5. I drag the Keekat model from the PWS into the new Choreography, then drag the Action onto the Keekat in the Choreography and check to make sure it is working correctly.

    Some things to check:

    1. Where is your dictionary file located? If it's on your hard drive, move the file (make another folder and put it in there), go through the steps again and when it asks where your dictionary file is located, browse to the new location. Hopefully, that will cure the inability to find the file.

    2. Is the Choreography adjusting to the length of the Action? Is the Action adjusting it's length to the sentence in the Dope Sheet? In the Dope Sheet, does the whole sentence show up?

    3. If you're using another character, try it with Keekat...it should work with him.

    Hope that helps.

ok thank you i will try those steps, i am using my own character (penguin) so i will try it on keekat to see if it works on there

  5. Hi I am using a macbook at school, and i am working on animation during my art class because my teacher has let me do so, buuuuut i was trying out the talking on my character and it is having a lot of problems with the dope sheet, i am trying out the sound "secret" and i type into the dope sheet "i've got a secret. Can you keep a secret? Didn't think so" but when i click ok, the only word that shows up on the timeline is "I've" and it keeps having erros like unable to access animation master, and cannot find dictionary. I have even looked in the animation folder and dictionary.dic is in the folder! so i have nooooo idea whats going on :(

please please anyone who can help much appreciated

  6. O I am so happy lol I finally had enough time to drive 4 hours to get a graphics card (not to mention save up money! lol) but yea! now i have one! so I hope to finally post my finished produnct of my plane soon :)

  7. If you're using A:M on Windows you have the option of using DirectX or OpenGL rendering (you can select this in A:M's Options panel). Try switching from whatever you're using to the other - that often cures such problems.

i always get an error when i go to directX

  8. ok its a white box again........ but when i render the final pic its fine and i can see the picture

    wh does this mean

and y can my graphics card show the pic in the final render but it doesnt show up when its not rendered?

  9. No ma'am.

There is currently no video tutorial for Exercise 20.

Here is the Hair Tech Talk which is quite informative and large. :P

Someone suggested they might screen capture Exercise 20 while they were doing it to assist.

I can't for the life of me remember who it was.

If you have problems with any of the exercises just post your questions and I'll sure you'll recieve answers in no time.

Edit: Robert saved me from having to track down the link to the Tech Talk. Thanks Robert!

ok ty ill check out the link
