  1. I am having the same problems, and it is like you said: More work then the exercise itself. The same problems I have also on some of the other exercises that I have completed but not being able to upload for its size. I have tried Sorenson and I have tried re-rendering them in Adobe Premiere but I still find it hard getting them into a size small enough to send but big enough to see.

  3. Thanks for replying Robert.

How silly of me! Yes, you are right!

As you can see I have not dragged the sound into the chore.

By double clicking it opened up and showed in the timeline but of cause to play in the frame transporter it has first to be dragged into the chore.

Maybe this mistake has told me the importance of dragging anything into the chore first to become active.

    Thank you Robert!!! :-) :D

  4. I have the playback sound problem again. From 16 bit 48,000 Hz Stereo WAV I converted it to a 16 bit 44,100 Hz Mono WAV file and it did not work. So I changed the different tipes of wav and it still did not work. I reduced the file to 44,100 16 bit and then down to a 32,000 Hz Mono WAV and it still would not play back the sound.

I solved the problem once but I am sure I did exactly what I did now. Namely converting it from a high quality stereo wav file into a low quality mono WAV file.

Can you please help me again on this one?

    Thanks

It is strange that for the same render the quicktime file is more then double the size then the windows media player file. And the windows (wmv) file is also a better quality. How come? I edited the sound in Adobe Audition, and rendered the sound together with the video in Adobe Premiere. I tried the whole day to get a better quality within quicktime but without success. I had also problems getting a mono file from Adobe Audition into Animation Master. I thought I render it again together with the audio file in A:M into a Sorensen Quicktime but there was no sound. Here are both files. As I mentioned it, the video and sound quality are better on the windows media file.

  6. I have been using 24 fps. Still fast enough to fool the eye. As a traditional 2D animator I am used of that measure so I am going to stick to it as long as I am allowed. One thing that bogs me about Computer 3D animation is that its hard to tell a frame not to move when I don’t want it to move. For example, I would like a foot to stay where it is while I am working out the arms and hips. As soon as I play it back the bloody foot is sticking in the ground as if it was mud and the arm is waving in the air when it should be pointing to the ground. I could not set Stride Length because I am not animating a walk but a anticipation for a walk. So tell me, Action or Choreography, how do you make a frame stay where it is supposed to be without having to put constrains everywhere? :(

  7. Hey I have a question about animating the propeller. I followed the excercise in "simple walk and wheel cycling actions". I made my propeller turn 4 times per frame, but I would like to add blurr to the propeller only, can i do that or does the blurr has to affect everything in the picture?

    Hi Dhar,

I am glad that it is my turn that I can answer you something for a change. Though I think it might be a little late and you have already found out by now. The motion blur picks up anything that moves. Tell me if I am wrong. You can adjust your blur to pick up just fast or slow movement. My propeller moves far to slow so I put some 50% motion blur onto the render. The propeller had plenty of blur but the slow in frame moving aircraft none. It looked stupid on a slow moving propeller so I took it off. I also noticed that on some frames the blur missed out. Maybe so the eye can still make out the propeller I guess. I had hoped that a slow moving propeller with plenty of blur would look like its turning so fast that you can only notice a shadow of the propeller, and as we seen it in many war films it looks like a shadow of the propeller moving very slow. It’s hard to explain the effect I am on about but I am sure you know what I mean. We can see it in fast moving wheels in cars too. B)

  8. I might can only answer you the ice and glass question. It is easy I think. Well here is how I would do it. I would experiment using white as the Specular Colour and adjust the Specular Size to 30%. I would also play with the Diffuse Colour but the importance for Glass and Ice is of course its transparency, so I would set the transparency to almost 100%. The Reflection I would set very high too and I would add some noise or bump but I think in Animation Master it is called something different but similar. I am not on my Animation Master computer so I can only help you so far. You will only notice the ice or glass effect after you render it, so I would render some samples now and again. Try the tutorial for the eyeball, there is a reflective transparent part on it, the cornea or something. The lens of the eyeball. That’s almost like glass, and its an interesting tutorial with many other helpful tutorials. http://www.colins-loft.net/tutorials.html

Hope this was of any use for you. Stick to it, the right answer is always coming when you looking for another one.

Good luck and wish you lots of fun.

  9. Hello.

I was hoping for some sort of discussions about solving lighting questions with Animation Master. I am still new to Animation Master but not to animation and I know the power of lighting and sound. I have had a look at your work, especially the work of Brian and I like it a lot. This is the kind of feel I always fall for. Sometime a bit like the surreal dreams of a child.

Does anyone know where I can find some information about lighting within Animation Master? Some tutorial focused especially on light and texture maybe?

    Thanks

  11. Hi Everyone,

I might as well get right to the point, I'm making a mini film and I'm creating a bouquet for the film. I have my own flower from this exercise, but instead of just copying it or modify it (I certainly could, but I think this would be cooler) I thought it would be fun if some of these unique flowers were in the film. I'd really appreciated if anyone donated (via PM, or email) their flower towards the bouquet, I'll make sure to put you in the credits. ;) And if It's OK with the donors I'll post the finished bouquet here for the Hash community.

    Thank you,

    Josh

No problem, just leave your email address and I mail it to you as a A:M project file.

Good luck with collecting all the other flowers and have fun making your film.

    Fybs.

  12. Its funny I can't upload the quicktime movie....what a shame....Maybe its a timeout error or something...

Here is a jpeg of the flower.

Any file that's over 1MB in size cannot be loaded in the post.

Either reduce the file size by rendering in Sorensen 3 instead of Animation, or zip the file.

    Thanks Dhar!

I am going to rerender it in Sorensen 3.

    Nice one m8.

Following Dhar’s advice, the file is much lighter now. So here is the flower doing a courtesy.
