Nice house Fab!! I like the look of it. My thoughts concerning the houses is the fact that they should be different. What I mean is this, the thatched house that Ken shared an example of is perfect for a farmhouse, while the one that fab is working on is better for a village with the roof as it is. The farmhouse I think should have the thatched roof. My 2 cents . I wanted to volunteer for the farmhouse, just because I had the same thoughts concerning the thatched roof and the look of the farmhouse. I don't mind doing other things though too. Looks like Ken has his sights on a good farmhouse.

I was also wondering about items you might see in the individual yards and common places. This may be jumping the gun since I have not seen all of the props, but should we make a list of items? I know in other places I have seen a cart, haystack, pitchfork. But I can think of other items too such as a well, flower pots, watering trough...etc. Like I said this is probably jumping the gun a bit. I will work hard this weekend to catch up and be better prepared.

Still working on getting set up. I had planned on doing that last night but a late night at work prevented me from having fun. I hope to push this forward and get busy with one of these. Please bear with me.

Hello, Dave Merchen here. I need to do a bit of catch up, but I am available for modelling if you need items. I need to download a few things and get set up, but I have talked to Al and he said to mention my availability here. Hopefully catching up won't take me very long. I will be working on that this evening. Thanks for the opportunity.

I am available to model if you need something. I wouldn't mind starting out small and getting some feedback on items such as props. I am not afraid to stretch a bit though. Let me know what you need. I just received my upgrade so I am trying to get it set up and trying things out a bit to see how it compares to previous versions and such.

I wouldn't mind being part of the set team, but I have some work to do to prepare. Is there a tentative list?

Interesting angle shot. It will be interesting to watch how this one develops. Are you going to continue with these type of angle shots? It could prove to be a very different type of short in the end.

I am sorry to see the loss of a good friend, but it looks like you have found a good way to distract yourself. This looks great and I enjoy seeing the progress. Old Man...thumbs up. Evil bunnies...scarrrrrry. Looking forward to more.

I happened to watch some of Pinnochio tonight with my kids, and the style seems very familiar. I love the style. The taller peaks in the roof lines will give it quite a distinct appearance also. I am so loving watching all of this come together. I will hopefully get some more time under my belt using Hash to possibly help with this project, I hope.

I wouldn't mind being considered for the upgrade. Thanks for the opportunity.

These are some really nice models! Nice group shot too!! I can't wait to see more. Anyway others can join in on the fun? This looks like an outstanding project!! I am trying desperately to catch up with the project and all of the updates in AM. Great Work!!

Yep, I knew it had to be there, I just didn't go far enough in. Boy am I glad all I have to worry about after a shower is parting my hair. There is a ton of attributes to this stuff. All the better I say. Thanks Parlo for the guidance.

Okay, another hair question. In the technical manual there is a place talking about stiffness. Call me crazy, and please prove me wrong, but I can't find it. What do I need to get to it. I have searched and searched, and I am sure it is right there somewhere. thanks again.

Thank you all! Excellent tips here! A lot of them I was already using such as OpenGL, still a very good tip. Thanks for the help. Yes it does seem that I have plenty of processing power. Thanks again!

Due to the massive replies, I figure I must be asking a question that can not be answered. So my question is, does everyone run into this same slow down when working with the hair. Really, I am just curious if this is the case and it is just the fact that so many calculations are being done that you are going to experience that no matter what system you have. Unless of course you have tons and tons of processing power, which I myself, I am sorry to say, can't afford. Thanks again for looking.

I have recently purchased a new computer and moved from an AMD Athlon 1.3 G to an AMD 64 3000. I have 1 Gig of Ram and an ATI 9800SE 128mb graphics card. I couldn't afford the 9800pro. Anyway, I am trying to use the new hair system with a couple of Hair emitters similar to the example in the new technical reference by Mr. Sutton. I address him as such, because the book is quite nice and has helped me mucho!!! Back to my question, when I turn up the density at all, the program becomes so bogged down that trying to turn down the density is very difficult. I am basically previewing the model while changing the different parameters of the hair. It just becomes very sluggish. What can I do to have this be a smooth process when changing the parameters? Is the pentium better able to do this? I have heard that the AMD is good for gaming while pentium is good for these type of applications. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks Nancy. Still trying to find my way around in the new format.

I do not see flat shaded mode. Is this just the shaded mode? There is shaded and shaded and wireframe. Perhaps I am missing something? Has this changed since 10 or 9.5? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I want to try something on a project but I can not seem to get the results I had hoped for. I am looking for a way to make something look like a sketch or watercolor when rendering during an animation. I have messed around with the materials and the ToonNation plugins for most of the day with little success. I have also looked at their website for any tips for the settings. Does anyone else have any tips for getting a nice sketchy or watercolor feel when using one of these? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have see several pieces that I have really been impreesed with the eyes. I am needing to work on a set of eyes and I was wondering if anyone has any tips or knows of some good tutorials for the eye? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hey Ken, I am running the Beta, but I don't see the obj exporter. I see 3DS, ply, and AV2. Is there another exporter? Please...

Thanks, I was wondering about that too. Just making the shorts part of the mesh. I will have to check out Eddie. thanks again.

I have a question concerning clothing on characters. I have a character I am working on, and he needs a pair of shorts. What is the best way to animate him? Do you simpy include the shorts as part of the bone or do you animate it separately? Translate the shorts to the character? I look at the Schlitzy animation and I am amazed at what can be done. There is a lot to sonsider with clothing. I will hopefully be able to share the character with you soon. Thanks for your help.

Are all of the shaders compatible with v11? I see on their site that they have specific version numbers such as 8.5 or 10 so I was just curious if these still work with 11. Thanks for responding to the silly question.
