  1. Vern, you will have to attend a couple more Comic Cons and some Si-Fi shows then you can fully appreciate life. I heard some where "life intimidates art", this is when it happens. People letting of a little steam with friends.

We want to say tanks to all the users that managed to find us, they sold our spot twice and I picked that location. Don Davis spent most of Saturday and Vern hung in for a while on Sunday. Vern wanted it to be cold enough to wear is Hash jacket well next time I hope he watches what he wishes for. We had snow that evening and now I'm back in NYC and it's still damn cold. That Vern, I think he controls the weather.

  2. If your in to Comics or SiFi and are in FL ( or just want to be) or New York ( and have to be) we have 3 comic book show in the next month. Normally the comic experts James and Heath do the comic show but Liza and I will be in the area so we are filling in. So come by and keep us in line.

First we have the FX Show in Orlando Next week end ( we'll miss Friday as we are in another hall at the OCCC but we will be their with bells on our toes on Sat and Sun. This is more toy and si-fi but some comics.

The big New York Comic Con is the 23-25th of Feb. in NYC at the Javits. Rumor is the A:M group from Philly will be making a road trip. We'll Don you still coming? If your in the Philly area user group get a hold of Don Davis and shake him for me.

Then MegaCon again in FL at the OCCC (Orange County Convention Center) the 27th to 29th of Feb. Were talking Comics and Anime at this one.

We'll see you "weather" it cool or warm you like we have both extremes covered.

  3. Florida's tech ed ( what we call 'em) is next week in Orlando.

I say Florida but this show draws teacher from all over the country. Might be the warm sunny weather in January. If your in Education and are in Orlando, stop in and say hi. We have quite a few schools in FL teaching A:M so it's a great show for us.

  4. I put a dummy Expression on the middle fingers in the Hand Gizmo...they shouldn't cause a problem, but that doesn't mean they don't. I'll take a look at it tonight, Marshall.

    Thanks David.

I got it... Well I found it. It added a channel to the middle finger and when I turned on show finger controls their it was. Looks like when I turn on Hand Gizmo it added to the channel on the middle finger, one I wasn't animating. It ended up with several key frames that turned the finger 180 deg. I delete them all and ever thing is good.

Here's another stab at the animation

  5. I lost control of the middle finger.....

    Not mine, SC's.

I tried to make him point with his index so I turned hand gizmo off and lost all control.

    Any Ideas....

I am implementing ideas from the forum and so its not ready for prime time but I didn't want to continue until I dealt with the hand.

  6. Snap to Frames (') apostrophe.... have no idea how to spell that

Group keyframes you want to change( why not all) and right click, menu will reveal "Snap to Frames" works lots and low calorie's.

  7. I don't like TW's right hand in front of his body all the time. Don't forget the silhouette rule and it doesn't seem to be doing anything anyway. Some antics while he's stammering might be putting his hands on his hips, scratching his head. Get his body/hips in on the action too.

    Thanks

I'll get the hand thing going... and eyelids. Tried to give the impression that his hand was reaching out but it dosen't carry well.

But the silhoutte thing, what? another new animation rule, and I'm not trying to be funny!

  8. 1st pass... Getting the setup done.

Lip sync is roughed in and no facial expressions on TW yet.

Is this the final audio? hard to have much expression on TW with the tone in the audio.

Trying to fill in SC's time on this planet, why are we here?

  9. I like your thinking Marshall. Reminds me of the interaction of Shrek and Donkey in reaction to Fiona's ramblings.

TW and SC don't look like they're looking at each other. I can't tell where SC is standing in reference to TW. Maybe if you turn their heads enough so that we see a good profile of the side of their faces it'll make their reaction read clearer.

Thanks, I think, you referenced professionals and I not sure thats good or bad....

    Can TH turn his head?

    and

Turning TW and SC heads far enough to see the faces is a lot of movement for a short scene. I tried it and I have to leave them turned at the end or the motion is so fast you would think they had a twitch. I didn't like the head not turning back as much so I shortened the turn.

    and

Which comes first the body or the head in anticipation?

  10. But if I add a word to my dictionary it's only going to benefit me. We need some system that would allow the words to get into the Hash master dictionary. SVN?

We could build a custom TWO dictionary and save it on SVN or if we only have a couple names then they could be on a list and animators could add them to their own *.dic files

If someone was to edit the dictionary to use more street talk and add the words that are new to the real world that could be added to the svn.

I spoke with Will ( the lip sync man) and he had some rules to follow

    1) they need to be in alphabetical order.

    2) you need to have a newer date on the *.dic file that you want to use than the one currently on your machine. Or delete the index.i file if you copy a dictionary.dic file from someone else that is older than the one you have currently saved.

Okay only 2 rules, Will's a easy guy.

  11. Dhar is a funny guy...

    I hope your joking

The dictionary is phonically correct, its a computer it only knows perfect. Maybe TW uses perfect lip sync, king and all.

Street phonics, that's what we want

Have you added nimmie ammee to your dictionary today

    Marshall

  12. I got it with fairly normal words. For example, I had to do the word "looking" manually. Admitidly, my dic file mightn't be up to date.

Open the Dictionary.dic file and nope no Looking lots of "Looking Glass" "Ill looking" and such but no looking.

Copy "looking glass" and paste it then delete the "glass" parts, both the word and the phonics. Save it. Now you have a custom dic.....

    looking-glass 'l/U/k/I//N/_,gl/&/s

    looking 'l/U/k/I//N

But what we really need is a master phonics set for TWO words ***Nimmie Ammee**** how do you! say it

    Marshall

  13. No. Is that when the word turns red? I got a few of those. I might if I knew how to.

That's the easy part... It's a text doc so it opens in wordpad and you can change, add or customize the file and save it.

The hard part is how do you say these crazy names phonically????
