  1. I seem to recall running across the answer to this here a while back.

Can all the model libraries be transfered to the HD and not run off the CD? I know that it would still be necessary to have the CD in to run the prog, and I'm fine with that. I just thought it might make things go a little faster to have all that goodness running of the box instead of the CD.

If so, has anyone tried this and was there a noticible difference?

    Thanks.

  2. OK. I found out why my ver 11.0 A:M doesn't install on my new mac mini via OS X...thanks to the message board folks

So, my next attempt at getting things up and running was to install Parallels to run XP virtually on the mini. Everything installed well (seemingly) but clicking on the icon on the desktop (again, in virtual XP) gives me a 'can't find CD drive' error.

It found the CD drive well enough to install the program...what gives? Anyone know the answer? All the settings for Parallels that pertain to the CD drive have been enabled.

It took a lot of lobbying to purchase the upgrade to 11.0 as I don't use the prog religiously enough for some people...so upgrading again is doubtful. I found Blender and it seems cool enough, but even though I never became a master at A:M I find I am very used to it and don't want to start all over with something new - however comparable it may claim to be.

Can anyone help me to figure out a way to get A:M running in Paralells, or provide me with a definitive 'it will never work...sorry" scenario?

Thank you all in this community who have helped me over the years.

  3. I shot a mail message to support but I thought I'd cover this base as well.

I got a Mac mini from work so that I could work from home. Since my home PC is way old, I wanted to install A:M on the mini.

The install of A:M 11 goes OK, but after entering in my info & serial the program just shuts down.

    System stats are as follows:

    1.83 gig core duo

    2 gig Ram

    Mac OSX

I checked the FAQ but didn't find anything similar to my situation. Sorry if this isn't the place for this question. Also, I know a mini is hardly the workhorse that should be running A:M but it it's all I got.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

  4. Thanks for the quick response.

After talking to a few other people about their experiences with other vector output from other progs - it seems like file size would be an issue...we have a 30K limit for the flash ads we create.

For what the client was asking for there is no way that it would come in under that.

    Thanks for the info.

  5. Are there any 3rd party plugz that allow you to render an A:M animation to a vector file for use in Flash? Or do newer versions of the A:M offer that render option?

I thought I had seen this topic discussed before, but I'm afraid time isn't on my side to allow for a lengthy search of the boards. I also apologize if this isn't the right place for this question.

Thanks to all for their time and effort on my behalf.

I was inspired by Hutch's pose - it struck me as very 'Kung Fu/get your whup a$$ on'. So of course my first thought was "Wax on...Wax off, Danielsan!" I'm not sure that this angle completely conveys my Ralph Macchio inspiration but I had fun!

Take it easy. I'll post more as I complete them.

    Having a blast,

  7. Hey everybody! (Hi Dr. Nick!!)

I'm just getting around (again) to devoting some time to A:M. Twins are quite the little time consumers!

    Anyway, here is exercise 1:

Looking forward to the rest of the examples - and of course having something for the wall as a symbol of my mad devotion to A:M! >>insert mad scientist laugh here<<

    PS

Couldn't tell from previous posts whether you were looking for a still or a .mov file. I opted for the still.
