  1. Thanks Mark for the fix.

I kept messing around with the model this morning and decided to recreate another hand pose. I checked it and it seemed to be working fine until I drug it onto a "Hands" folder that I created. That's when it stopped working. I drug it back out of the "hands" folder, but the pose no longer worked. I am afraid of progressing any further with this model for fear of other stuff corrupting. Is there a way to avoid the corruptions?

  2. Hello all,

I have worked of rigging my character for the last week, and thought I was doing well. I finished creating clinched hand movements when I moved to creating smart skin for the characters body. When I went back to test a previously hand clinch poses, I noticed the sliders didn't work. I opened an action and tried to move the fingers individually, but they seemed to be frozen -- only the roll worked. Interestingly, a previous version of the model exhibited the same problem. I can't figure out what is happening. Anyone have any ideas?

  3. Hello all,

FYI, reiko weidtland was correct. Some how the magnet mode circle had a radios of 0. Going into editing the registry did the trick.

I don't know if it is the video card driver that causes this setting to be set to 0, but the video card that I have is the 128 MB PCI Express x16 (DVI?VGA?TV-out) ATI Radeon x800 SE. Anyone else have this problem?

I hope someone might find this info beneficial.

    Thanks to all of you,

  4. Hello Ken,

Yes, I do have a ATI Radeon, I forget what model number. If I remember correctly it is 600 or 800. I ordered the card with my new Dell. The interface is a PCI Express as opposed to AGP with 2 gig memory. I am running two monitors, if that makes any difference.

I loaded the software on my work computer and the circle shows up normal size, so I think you are on the right track. At home I also zoomed way-way out but couldn't find the handles.

Is there anything I can do to get the Magnet mode circle back down to normal size?

  5. Hello,

Has anyone had trouble with magnet mode in Version 11.1b. When I envoke it, the Magnet field falloff circle doesn't appear. There is a small yellow box/circle that comes on when I am in Magnet mode, but that it. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

  6. Hello all,

I am trying to figure out relationships and my head is spinning after reading the documentation. I can see how it is powerful but I am really having a hard time understanding how to get "stuff" to work. Am I alone?

I am trying to set up an "angry face" on my head model and replace the standard face map with a red-er face map. I used Object>FACE>New>Percentage to get started moving the Cps to make the scowel, but how do you go about setting a relationship to replace the standard face map with the red, angry face map. I image that I should map both textures and decrease one map as I increase the other. I want everything to change with one slider (if possible). What I need is a step by step method of how get this done and a reders digest explanation of how relationeships work.

    Ps forgive the bad spelling

  7. Thanks Larry for your valuable suggestion.

The syntax of my file was a little bit different than that of your example but I still used your principle.

I knew which model was the last I worked on in the project and looked up and down the extremely long list of code. I came across the respective CP numbers you asked me to delete but found that the format was not the same as your example. I tried a couple of things that didn't work and finally decided to get rid of that models code entirely. After that my project opened no problem. The minor model will take about 1/2 hr to rebuild. No biggie.

Again, I deepest appreciation for pointing me in the right direction.

Also, thanks for the lecture. Now I will practice safe modeling!

  8. Hello,

I guess I should have known better than to work on my portfolio project on Friday the 13th.

I was working on my HASH project and shut it down to do some Photoshop work. When I returned to my HASH project a message appeared informing me that there were two points in error.

"ERROR IN MODEL FILE, SPLINE ATTACHMENT. ANCHOR= 257 CP= 295 CTTEMPTING TO CONTINUE"

The program would attempt to fix the errors but repeatedly crashes and boots me out of the program. In effect not allowing me access to my project. The project was created in 10.5r and I just bought the Vs 11s upgrade. I installed it hopping that it might do the trick but I had no better success with the project as vs 10.5.

This is the second time the same thing has happened to me but I was able to recover the project on that occasion.

As I have mentioned before, this is part of portfolio and it is very important that I at least recover the project. Does anyone have any idea on how to recover the project

    Regards,

  9. I really like your furtature. I am in pre-production on a film school portfolio project and all the planned animation takes place in an architects office. Your furniture would look good in my project. Are you planning to market your furniture collection.

  10. Hello again,

Here is the image with the assigned mapping coordinates. I mapped the hull with a large map. I split the the hull into three parts: 1 the top 1 lower left half and 3 the lower right. There are problem areas that cause my panel lines to wobble. So my question is; was this the best approach in mapping this mode?

    Thanks,

  11. Ooops I think my image was too big. Here is a substitute image. I hope this one works.

    Sorry

    Hello All,

Here are a couple of water craft that I will be using for my film school portfolio project that I will begin here in a couple of months. The project will be an adventure movie trailer. The first two models of the film look simple but have had their problems. One problem is straight panel lines on curved surfaces.

I have used the texture "EDIT" and that works great but there are still some problem areas. I think it is is my approach that I need to rethink. Any way, I would appreciate your input.

    Thanks
