  1. I DO :) and love the result :) I was complaining about VUE not A:M (does the work quite well..se the first reender with multipass, on a high speed logo ), but the reply

This produces nice smooth blur, but doesn't handle overlapping objects/transparency/shadows properly.
got me wondering... can this be true ?? I never had any problems with the above but then I'm just a beginner in A:M to :)

    Thank you for the reply...

  2. Depends on the speed of movement (the length of the moblur trail) too. Dunno what technology AM are using, but my guess is that it's a 2D post effect. This produces nice smooth blur, but doesn't handle overlapping objects/transparency/shadows properly.

From what I see, AM is indeed using 2D motion blur. This is typically visible in your last image where you see lines appear in the motion blur that really shouldn't be there.

Vue Pro has a similar technique called Hybrid 2.5D motion blur. It's a little more advanced in that you won't get the lines showing off so badly.

This was a reply I got from the VUE site when I complained about how noicy my reenderings was compared to A:M ... well on my FIRST REENDERING I was using multi-pass reendering, and on my SECOND REENDERING I was using Stanard Final reendering on my high speed LOGO.

To be honest the "tone" in the reply suggested that A:M was using some sort of cheap, 2D - render engine,... and that ticked me a little bit off (I LOVE A:M!!) ;) .. Could I get some answers in tecnical language from sombody that knows A:M ??

Anyway ... there should be increasing orders of A:M from norway as my LOGOS are flying round ... as in this latest BIG WIP(25Mb) (Reendered in VUE 5 and A:M, modelled in A:M )

Have a nice day everybody ..

EDITED: And as A:M got 10 points(Features 10, and value for money 10) in 3D World in the same issue VUE 5 got 9 (7 in features and 9 value for money) :P

    Cheers from Norway

  3. Hi,

My guess is that HASH new Spam filter is locking me out I've sendt 2 postings (From different email accounts) about this problem but no replay from HASH..

There should maiby bee a POSTING page for support issues also ?

Well if anybody from hash is reading this heres what I've done.:

    1. Installed the dongle, MS XP told me it found it, and the dongle starts to lit.

    2. downloaded NET2004.exe, executed it and NET A:M installed itself.

    3. Tried to start A:M but after about 10 seconds I get the "Dongle not found (15)" error.

    Please advice :)

    Cheers

    What is happening ??

  7. since many people would rather consult the online version which is free.

Well I tend to take your excellent book wherever I go (and I actually read it too :) ) Difficult to take the online version into bed (Yes I do sleep :D), and eh.. to the toilet (spending some time there too  ) It is great learning A:M without having to surf numerous sites, search, print, having a laptop ... Well done !! and Thank you for (in my opinion) filling in the gaps in a great product

PS: Why does the spellcheck give me an error on the word "A:M" ??

  8. Hi ,

Thank you for your support :D

@Simon, The book was just an example, I have in fact that kind of transition (Comes with Liquid Edition Pro/HollywoodFX)

Now it is clear to me how Alpha work, if I where to use a "book" transition, I would just Use green/blue (or whatever) color on the geometry, and key that out in LE (making it transparent) :)

To all that has replied , thank you wery mutch :)

    Best regards

    Tor-Bjarne Henriksen

  9. I don't quite understand your second question.

Say I want to make a Wedding transition, A model of a book turns a page , there are video on the first page, and a other video on the second page.

A other company will supply the video in their NLE, I will make the transition.

I would like to belive that if I made part of a model Black that part would be an Alpha channel but it is not .

this example is rendered with alpha channel ON

    render3.jpg

But when I take it into my Pinnacle NLE the square in the middle is black, not transparent (Alpha channel) as I would expect.

    render4.jpg

I can ofcourse make it green or blue and use a Key-filter in the NLE, but other colors of green and blue would then become transparent also..

I know I can make all this happen in A:M, but what if I want to make transitions for others :) that can me used with a variety of different video clips :)

    An video example

    Cheers Tor-Bjarne

  10. Hi,

I'm trying to render some splines with "Render as Lines" switched on, and I also applying glow to this model.

    BUT I'm having some problems.

1: If i have the Alpha buffer switched OFF I'm getting a glow result, as shown in the first picture.

    render1.jpg

    2. If I switch the Alpha buffer option ON, I'm getting the Non-Glow result as shown in the second picture.

    render2.jpg

    WHY???

And also ... how do I use the Alpha buffer in an model, say I want to model a book, and part of one page (a picture) is Alpha ?? So I can composite some video on it later with my Pinnacle NLE ??

    Cindly regards

    Tor-Bjarne

  11. I suspect this to :)

The reason I ask is just to get this clarifyed.

I have purchased the "total" package from Anzovin, and for mee it will take 6mnd to a year to make a model :) from modeling, rigging animating it :) as I have to learn everything on the way ..

    Cheers

    Tor-Bjarne

  12. Hi,

probably been asked before, but can we use the models supplied with A:M ?

Say I want to make a 6 second intro/vignette using KeeKat or eddie, and maybe it is commercial ?

I don't remember reading anything about this :)

    Cheers

    Tor-Bjarne
