How do I select only the CPs in a model.

I have three models overlapping and I want to select only the CPs of one of them so I can scale it.  So basically, how do I select all the CPs in a particular object?  I know noob question, and I've searched the forum but it only gives me threads with hitting Cntrol+A to select all the CPs in the scene.

Thanks

Three models overlapping? In a model window... it's all one model. (It is possible, but very unlikely that your are modeling in the Chor with multiple models visible)

Presuming you are in a model window...

Select one CP in the portion of the mesh you wish to select, then press / (slash) to select all the CPs that are connected to it by splines.

Other related shortcuts..

. (Period) inverts your current selection

, (comma) selects all the CPs on same spline as the selected CP.

I'm making multiple bodies in one modeling window like an idiot.  Doh!  I guess I have to create each model in a separate modeling window?

I suppose you could select a portion, copy it, then paste it to a new model window when you are done with the three- in-one approach.
