Warlock 0 Posted January 23 Hi, previously I posted about OBJ import etc and had some great responses, to those whom responded thank you again, So I figured I'd throw another question out here, In choreography I used to be able to have an animated or live action background video of say a cloudy sky or such and it would render just fine , it even would play in realtime , now however for some reason the file loads as a static image even after rendering , I've used the method in the past can't figure what I might be missing, I've used several file formats to try to correct the problem however no difference, any ideas would be appreciated, thanks
robcat2075 283 Posted January 23 Have you converted it to an image sequence? Convert it to an image sequence of JPGs or TGAs.
Warlock 0 Posted January 26 Hi thanks for the reply, unfortunately none of my video creation or editing software will convert to image sequence format, and I cannot do that through AM because it no longer processes a moving background, there's got to be another answer, I used moving backgrounds (live action footage) many times in choreagraphy before with no issues, I'm thinking maybe one of the plugins has somehow been corrupted, here's an example of an old project I did a while ago using the method, this is without the front projection video only backdrop, ELO nebula pass thru.mov
robcat2075 283 Posted January 26 What format and codec is the original video in?
Warlock 0 Posted January 26 it was either an avi or quick time I know I have used both in the past
robcat2075 283 Posted January 26 Can you send me the file in a forum PM (private message)?

On win10 64bits AM 19g. But you can import a sequence of images and use it in the layer. With Virtualdub2 you can import a vid and Export as an image sequence. Fuchur 80 Posted January 26 if you import a video or still imagesequence and it stays at one frame you might want to have a look at the frame property of the video. Is it increasing? If not, try keyframing it as you wish. best regards *Fuchur*
Warlock 0 Posted January 27 hi, thanks for the reply , yeah I did try keyframing however no matter what vid format it remains as a static image, for some reason it just reads all the vid formats as a still image and not as a series of stills like sortof a flip book would do. ChuckGram 9 Posted February 16 I'm currently having the same issues. When I attempt to import an animation, I keep getting the message "The file does not contain a video stream".
robcat2075 283 Posted February 16 Convert it to a TGA or JPG image sequence. That will work.
robcat2075 283 Posted February 16 David Simmons tells me that Black Magic Da Vinci Resolve is a free program that can convert video to image sequence.
itsjustme 57 Posted February 16 Here is the page with the link to the free version at the bottom of the page: https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/davinciresolve/fusion When exporting ("Deliver"), select the "Custom" tab and on the video section select a still image format to export. I've been using v14, but the current version is 15. I have the option to export as a TIF or JPEG2000 still...not sure what is currently available. Also, here are a few more options: Virtualdub (http://www.virtualdub.org/blog/pivot/entry.php?id=34)...it is Windows only, I think. VLC (https://www.isimonbrown.co.uk/vlc-export-frames/). Photoshop (https://ihatetomatoes.net/convert-video-image-sequence/) Hope that helps.
