Forum banner overflow fixed?

Recommended Posts

It's been about two years but I think I finally found the fix for the forum banner overflow issue.

Before declaring victory however...

I'd be interested to know if anyone is still experiencing any issues with page sizing or banner images flowing outside of the banner area.

I've checked a couple different browsers and they seem good to go but don't have an ipad or tablet to test.

Thanks!

I like your banner, Rodney. It's like a mini-museum of interesting A:M stuff and you curate it well!

I don't have an ipad to test it on either.

Yes I really enjoy the banner. Looks good on my computah (firefox).

Wouldn't run on my rotary dial phone however. I don't have any other devices to test on.

Hmmm... I will have to get ahold of one of those to test. ;)

Thanks, I have a lot of fun updating it!

I've gotten a bit lazy of late in keeping it up to date but A:M Users continually inspire me so I'm confident the best is yet to come.

There are some incremental upgrades to the forum/banner I hope to implement in the future but I don't want any changes to be too jarring.

As new forums come and go those areas will be the most likely targets.

As frustrating as the overflow has been here in the forum the real pain was seeing the forum page all askew in the A:M Community window.

I'm happy to report that the fix is in there. What's a relief!

Still overflows on my iPad.

I don't suppose you could share a screen shot?

Given the width of a few of the banners, at a guess I'd say that overflow could be VERY significant.

This makes me wonder... Does the iPad use a version of Safari for browsing?

Edit: I see that it does by default but that there are also alternatives.

It is broken again on the iPad. It is the same issue as discussed in this other thread previously.

I have not looked at the page's code this time but the solution is probably the same as before (from that same thread).

On the iPad, all of the browsers have to the same rendering engine (I think that is close to the right terminology) so viewing a site in a browser other than safari (on the ipad) will still look the same regardless.
