SimCloth Crash

Recommended Posts

I have tried to run the "Flag" tut for cloth and get blown out of AM.

Everything works great until I select the "ChorName>Plug-ins>SimCloth Simulate".

As soon as I do I get an error. "Unhandled Exception #001" and AM shuts down.

I tried to run it on a different model with the cloth and deflector added.

Same result.

Any Ideas!

I'm running version 14.0c.

post your PRJ (with all models embedded) saved just prior to simulating.

OK,

Here is the PRJ file.

myFLAG.PRJ

I am ready to do the following command which throws the error and crashes AM.

Finally, right-click in the choreography and pick

[Plug-ins][simCloth Simulate].

Thanks,

Worked for me with v15d. The only thing missing for the project was the decals. Since I didn't have the decals you may want to try removing them and simulating. I only suggest this since that would be the only difference... well that and the version of AM.

Since "SimCloth Simulate" is a plug-in, could you tell me the .htx file it is calling from the HTX directory?

Could that file somehow be corrupted?

Where do I go from here?

Thanks for your help

I ran it in 13 and it worked, even if I applied a decal.

There are a couple of reports in "AM Reports" of v14c crashing upon "simulate" although no conclusions about it.

One report said the user could do this exercise successfully if he recreated the mesh from scratch in V14c. It seems that models brought in from previous versions were a problem but not ones he created himself.

Since the Flag is fairly simple, you might try re-making it in a new model window and give that a run in a new chor.

Are you mac or PC? (Just curious, I don't have a specific solution for either)

Getting the newest version would be my first suggestion. Re installation would be my second. Maybe there was an update to the cloth plugin since the CD version you have. Don't know and wouldn't know where to find it. Not sure what else to suggest.

make sure AM is set for only one thread

Options>Global Threads has been set to (1) for all attempts I have made.

This was dumb luck on my part and not wisdom though.

Thanks for the idea.
