jakerupert
I don`t know, if this is the right place to post this topic. I want to insert some headlights, brake-and turninglights into my carmodell, that can be turned on and off. What is the best way to do this? Are there any examples to investigate available? Jake? 3DArtZ
I would use an "On/Off" pose to activate the lights visibility. Give it a go and let us know what you get. Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com

In your model window, add the lights. Set a maximum value (add some volumetrics to give the lights that nice cone look for head lights, plain round for the tail and signal lights. When you want the lights on / off or to indicate a turn, adjust the values from 0 - 100 (this worked quite well in version 8.5 . Especially with the volumetrics for the headlights..... hope this helps. If you add the lights to the model in the model window, you will not have to worry about bones and keeping things together as the car moves. The lights will be part of the model. I hope this helps and isn't coming too late. ax
John Bigboote
For headlights, use a klieg with volumetrics or lens flares (as needed) For things like brake lights, you can animate the ambiance property and add glow. ALL of this is to be used as needed...meaning if your camera angle won't see it...don't bother.
