Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted June 28, 2007 Hash Fellow Share Posted June 28, 2007 What exactly is the purpose of the "Bone to Spring" constraint? Are there any examples of it being used? Is it obsolete now that "cloth" is a "material" and no longer the result of the "cloth wizard" (Which I think no longer exists in A:M?) The cloth wizard created a grid of springs to simulate cloth. There seem to be spring creation tools in the A:M toolset but in what situation do they become enabled?
3DArtZ
Well I'm just spitballing here.... but couldn't one use the bone to spring constraint if they were say.... animating a huge dinosaour and you wanted to create the secondary bouncing of the belly as it lumbered along? Things like that.... But, all that being said, back to what you were saying, I have not used the bone to spring for a couple years.... But that would be done with dynamic constraints on bones, right? "Springs" are something that are created by/on a mesh as in the way the previous version of cloth worked, right? There is an actual icon in the tool set for creating springs but I've never seen a project where someone created them manually (cloth was done with a wizard).
