A keen eye (such as mine) will notice that tho they acknoowledge that shoulders are trouble areas... the image they show features a strangely bending shoulder joint.

 

Ah... but a keen mind will know that Shaun Freeman would know that your keen eye would see that strangely bending shoulder joint and plan his layout accordingly.

 

In the same way modelers rise from the primordial world of polygons and reorient themselves toward splines Shaun's image displays how a model can be taken from the most basic setup to optimized rigging of complex joints. All in one dynamic action oriented picture.

 

No... seriously!

:P %$%#&@&&^^^%#&^%$#!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I bought that issue (for about $13.50), just for those few pages. Oh, well gotta support the mags - that pay the guys - that use the HASH! Great article, I will need it as soon as I am done smart skinning my characters knees because shoulders are coming next!!!
