TacoBallZ
Here's the dilemma, I thought it would be fun to add a tail to my recent block rig character. It seemed to work very well in the chor and when rendered to file using realtime shading. However the dynamics goes CRAZY when rendered to file in final shaded mode. Here are the examples. It is relataed to the Object Collision because there is no problems when it is turned off. I've tried several collision radius and bounce and friction settings, and most work reasonably well in shaded/preview mode when rendered or just playing back in the chor. PS, forgot to mention it's v12.0 s Collision Off http://renderwild.com/3d/no_collision.mov Collision On http://renderwild.com/3d/final_render.mov Realtime Shaded http://renderwild.com/3d/tail_rig_shaded.mov
Bendytoons
Just to get the obvious out of the way first, are you solving the spring system in your choreography before rendering? The real time solver can get wonky, be sure to right click in the chor window and choose solve sprng systems, this bakes the animation into keys. TacoBallZ
Wow, thanks, that did the trick! Now to render a nice-happy higher resolution version . http://renderwild.com/3d/11new.mov
zandoriastudios
Also, set the error reduction to 0, in the Choreography properties (by default, I think it is set to 1). That will make the simulation more accurate
TacoBallZ
Updated, 640x480 sor3 quicktime 2.6MB See if you can catch the motion blur! actually, only ran at 3passes, so it might not be super clean. Thanks for all the input. Will, I am going to try that out, but for now it looks pretty decent. http://renderwild.com/3d/02simulated_tail.mov
