OK, just got the software today and have had a crack at the first 3 exercises.

Here are the links:

Exercie 2 - QT 2.6MB

Exercise 3

The only issue I have is with the Knights animation, for some reason his leg glitches half way through the animation - as it's just a drag and drop action I'm leaving it be for now. I'm sure once I am more experienced with the software I'll figure it out. EDIT - Thanks to Heath, got the new Knight and all is well...

3 more to go - see you tomorrow! :D

Okay, moving on, I've complete exercises 4 and 5 with links to both below.

It's a Pitch

For some reason the knight's armour on the right side of his chest is not rendering, but as I've got no modelling experience I'll leave it for now.

Take a Walk

I'm quite happy with the rabbit though there is the slightest bit of slipping on his feet, practice, practice, practice.

Onto te next tutorials - my plan is to go through the whole book once, then start over adding my own embelishments as a kind of 'second pass' improvement, rather than being too adventurous initially.

The movies are too big to post, should I re-render them at a smaller size, or put them on my site and then link to them?

That is entirely your choice.

Of the two options I'd suggest linking them from your site if you have one. Not everyone does.

Here's It's a Pitch (Ex 4). Runs full speed, then 1/2 speed, then 1/4 speed.

There's a bit of a hop as he comes forwward for the throw that I couldn't quite get out of there. Well, I'm sure I could, I'm just getting sick of the excercise :( .

Thank you for the kind words.

If anyone cares, for the slowing repeats: I use Vegas Video Studio to go from raw AVI to finished product, I just threw the clip in there three times and changed the playback speed for each time.

How do you use different camera angles? Someone mentioned in another forum about joining different scenes together. How is that done?

I would use an external program. I am using Sony's Video Studio (the cheap one about $100) because I really like the interface. You can get software that will do similar tasks all the way down to freeware.

Michael,

I've fallen behind in answering the 'mail'!

For everyone working through TaoA:M if it looks like I've missed a post you can always email me to get my attention. My email is linked in my signature at the bottom of all my posts.

If you don't email me all I'll have in my inbox to read is spam... please don't make me do that.

I'd much rather read email from you.

Its great to see everyone joining in but there is ALWAYS room for more.

Come join us in TaoA:M okay?

Best,

Rodney

Watch your Camera's Depth of Field, the last one is out of focus.

Glad you see that too Dhar. I thought for a second it was my eyes. :P

You are indeed speedy, Dick.

Hope you are having as much fun as it looks like you are.

Edit: Didn't see your update. Much better! :)

Great to have you joining us Hamilton! :)

instructor: none

Every time I see this (which is often) I get depressed. What a waste of a good opportunity.

We need to do something about this in 2007. Hmmm.... (think think. think think.)

Great to have you with us Steve!

Alright everyone. Its a brand new year.

Thanks Rodney,

Yes to everyone out there who has been sitting back and watching the TWO project going ahead in leaps and bounds (like I have), they should make 2007 the year they get involved. I have decided to 'give it a go', so should you!

To that end, here are my attempts at excercises 2 to 7.

Name: Steven Sylvander

Excercises: 2 to 7

Date of completion:9th Oct 2005 to 4th July 2006 (that's nearly a year! Still 2007 will be different)

Instructor:No one in particular, but those that have submitted and commented to the forum.

Thanks

Steve
