new lipsync test

Recommended Posts

Hi!

i am posting a test with a character i had abandonned awhile ago.

I decided to rework the head after buying the excellent face bundle

from Anzovin (building, rigging and animating a face cd's). It is the

same text in french that i posted a few months ago. You can still judge

of the lipsync and attitude of the character even if you don't understand

the words, i think (Justin Barrett made a very good tutorial in italian).

Thank you for viewing!

Very nice ...

I haven't seen your prior work and I don't know how experienced you are at this so I can't judge your improvement. But all the elements are

well done. I like the hair

did you find that your face modeling improved greatly after working through the Anzovin Cds?

I'm glad you like the tute, Michel. :)

Re: your clip, the lip sync feels way too soft and subtle overall. There's a lot of variety in the sound of the voice, but very little in your character's mouth shape creation. It shouldn't be super-duper snappy, but it definitely does need to be punched up a notch. It's a pretty good start, though! :D

I have to agree with JBarrett... The expressions could be much more pronounced and exaggerated. Do more with the eyes (blink, shift around, squint, etc)... and the mouth movements could be exaggerated a lot more. Try to make it almost so that we could read his lips and know what he is saying without hearing the audio. Well.... minus the ability to speak french, which i do not have. ;)

Those are my suggestions anyway, and, keep in mind, i am no expert in lip synching myself.

Thank you vegprime! Yes the modeling tutorial by Bill Young is very helpfull.

My character had pretty much the same look before but did not have really

good splinage for believable animation. You learn good modeling techniques

aimed at animation.

Thank you for watching Justin! I think i have the bad habit of toning down

animation(not only lipsync) as i work each passes.I also wonder if it is a bad

idea to lipsync your own voice when your are a bad comedian.

Yes i tried just reading lips, and a french deaf person would look at an alien.

Thank you for watching!
