  1. Is this Multipass? I've been considering jittering each hair a little bit in Multipass to make it "softer" and "fuller."

Yes please Martin!!! :D Oh, and if you are feeling up to it, an option for it a nice bit of 'hair clumpiness' please.

Kevin, another terrific demonstration of your fur prowess. Is it possible to have a shot of Woot with some cool backlighting on his hair to show off your new shaders.

I agree, his fur/hair would look more lived in if there is clumping.

  2. Thanks Don,

You provided a very fruitful meetingplace. Ideas were flowing like beer. That famous South Park phrase acounting for the continual demise of one perticular character... hits home! The anniversary was 8-22-06. But I'm fine right now... it still hurts, but I'm managing better these days.

    Everyone was great as usual...

and Vern maybe you should do backgrounds/ sets in AM, and use the characters the way you have them now as rotos- that way you get the best of both!

John----- YOU ARE THE MAN! That DVD you made looks fantastic! IM me later with the size of the animations you used to make things so crystal clear. DSP will arise, soon.

Who is entering the next image contest?

  3. Sadly, I will have to confirm my no. I look forward to the fall or winter meeting where I hope to be able to show my mini movie contest entry.

    Have fun!

    Scott

YAH! Your presentation will be welcome, I love to see animations! Wish you could make it this time, but there are other important things that come along as we all understand. Hope you have a fantastic anniversary!

  4. Guys,

to get rid of the hair plug look at the scalp--- in the timeline for the thickness attribute for hair material, shape the hair very thin at the base... it will appear to be "rooted" in the skin.

  5. Hi Rodger

Yes, you can just add them to the wall , take the easiest way

Those area would receive paints, carpet wall , tapestry etc.

    Al

Hey, what about the crests, shields, lamps/ candle operas? I think they would add some romantic value. I wish I had time to work on something here... looks like you guys are having lots of fun... everything is so good, and everybody is doing their best work.... KEEP IT UP!

  6. Sorry about my "Driving" the laptop poorly! I get disoriented easily. Hopefully, next time John can bring in his MEGA MACHINE. I actuallly had an easier time driving that. There was so much more to show you--I just choked! You know, I don't think you guys would have defamed StarWars as much had Leo been there!

    Don

... I wish I HAD brought weed... we already had the muchies!

    Scott

...I forgot to ask why the bee had arms but no legs?

    Vern

... while you were talking I was being attacked by plastic "gutter" bags!

    John (both)

... you forgot to heckle me when I was at the laptop! And if it means anything: You still look like Jesus... just a more "worldly" version!

    Zach

... SIGGRAPH??????? *GASP* "The force runs strong in your animation!" You are GOOD! Congrats/Knock'em dead!

  7. And I thought I heard Rich say that he would bring some left over wedding cake (not sure though, I could be mistaken...maybe he said weeding???)

Whatever you want to bring is fine with me.

:o Oh okay.... so I'm the butt of another joke.... how shocking!

Don, if you want me to bring some weed... just ask me, don't be shy.(Just joking)

  8. I think I can make it on the 20th. But I can't promise any new AM stuff.

    -Vern

That usually means you'll have tons to show still. I said that- and look at what I ended up bringing. I thought I had shown that stuff before... I guess I was stuck in some sort of quantum loop.

  9. Okay!!! the 20th sounds good to me... I hope John reports soon. He is raring to get to the next meeting! Don, where was your first post... I wanna see! I haven't posted in a while. I've been deep into designing cloth, so I will have some cloth sim to show.... and that's all I will say for now... there seems to be a "gag" order in effect right now. Let's have another FUN meeting like last time... I promis that I will stutter even more this time... and it should be warmer...BRRRR!

Oh and a BIG WELCOME TO YOU LEO!!

  10. WoW, I just realized that Zack has immortalized Don Davis and Rich Jackson in his latest Olympic vodcast!

And ya know, I would have done you, too, John, if I knew how to pronounce your last name. :D

OHHH my GOD!! I wish I really did sound that good! And you even fit the "actually" in there where I would have said it. That was great! You really got me wondering how you did that ice, though! Must have been a pain. I definately would've donated my voice if you wanted. Or in the future now that I have a mic. So, if you ever need a really geeky type voice or one like "Heffer" (from "Rocko's modern life" cartoon-Nickelodeon-) I'm perfect for it.

    Thanks,

    That made my evening!

  11. Ummm, I believe that that is the overall big picture here... He could have used the last fairie... but he freed the fairie, when the fairie had no hope. I like the whole emotional grip of it. It's a very interesting concept... and very original... see the emotions he got out of you with just thumbnails/storyboards? Get it?

    Conflict = story.

Although, you could have the troll at least have some regretfull look on his face when he frees the last fairie. That wouldn't take the troll completely out of character... We need to see his struggle in freeing the fairie to show that he, at last, fought something in himself.

  12. It was great for Vern and Zach to show there latest works! PS, I hope everyone has subscribed to Zach's pod cast already! You should, it’s awesome!

Zach, I love what you show everytime! Eventualy I will subscribe. It really inspires me to learn how to animate, but I'm afraid I will never have the quality that is in your animations... why didn't I get the "animator gene" too?

I thought it was interesting that there were some similarities between the space ships that rich and i designed! Looks like there might be a little future collaboration on a possible "Sci-Fi" Project in the future... Hmmmm... Rich, Maybe we can begin collaboration.

Next meeting... the DVD will be available along with the bonus DVD with 6 hours of explanation on how we did it-(I have A.D.D., as you could tell at the meeting)

Definatly Fun. I will have the VIDEO from the MAAM Meeting up for the MAAM Members.

When??? Oh my GOD!!! How many times did I stutter?? Uh-oh.

Hmmm, I may have to try to get to one of these meetings someday, though I don't really have much to contribute.

That's my line!-- Dude, if you only knew... you don't have to bring anything really... you could just bring "ideas" and it would be fine... and If you brought some cokes... that would bring tears to Zach's eyes... and cookies, that would fill Vern up... or "another lap-mac" to the meeting, but please show up!

    PLEASE?

p.s.s.s Seaquest WAS a great show I tell you! Buy season one on DVD right now!

   ...and then burn them!

Rich, don't know if I will make your deadline but I will try... thanks for those modeling metaclorians, I was just curious are they good or evil???

I'm a "Sith Lord" so I guess they are -HEHEHEHAAAA- evil! Four 5-point patches can make the crouch area? Only on a toon.

  13. I have to say I really felt so comfortable at this meeting... Don, the meeting place is just beautiful. It was perfect! I'd have to say that at this meeting everyone was at their best! So much beautiful work and inspiration. I'm officially the meeting jester- next meeting I will find the "court jester" hat or something similar.

Thanks soooo much for the T-shirt Don... I wanna see your first posted model on the forum (somewhere even e-mail) by 12:00 PM Sunday 26th of February! Completed or unfinshed, it doesn't matter. That's your homework assignment. If you post it on the forum... you get an automatic A+! :D otherwise I will be posting to let you know what I think.

Thanks so much for taking me all the way into Vineland!
