hey folks,
i'm trying to recover some ancient models with am13, and can't get the bugger to run on windows 10
it installs fine, demands admin rights when i first try to run it, then further run attempts do nothing. no error, no flicker, nada.
anyone have any luck running a:m 2006 on a modern machine? the scarecrow and tin man await your response!

of course there are five point patches (joining arms and breasts), but it's still an excellent model!
did you tweak the bias handles? i consider that cheating ' ' )

somewhere in your render settings is eye distance... could it currently be set to 0?
it could be a deeper problem too, but take a look.

the crosseye version is certainly trippy... but the pacing was a little too fast for me to fully appreciate the stereo effect.
great job folks!

Just for the record....
will obviously enjoyed your work, so no worries there.
as for rules, there's only one rule that applies to anything under hash.com. ' ' )

don't forget will's plaque too!

thanks for the kind words rodney!
those more verbose than me explain it all at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portal_(video_game)#Plot
in short, the weighted companion cube represents all that is pure and good in the world of portal.
you can experience it's charms and untimely death on the youtube:

it was suggested a while ago that eventually the pm notices would be so late, that they'd start arriving before the messages were sent.
obviously hash inc did the only responsible thing and killed the pm service before it could wrap around the timespace continuum and bring about the singularity.

layers and frames aren't directly related. in each frame, the layers can move and or be hidden.

Nyyya. Got some loose change, Doc?
Why not try one of THESE instead.
"Technology Section Coming Soon"
the wired article seems to indicate this is actual full color holography... so i'd love to see the real deal.

i've had some success lately with lenticular images. i bought a pile of 8x10 lenses for about 60 dollars... a little more than a dollar a piece.
at 60 lpi, a 600 dpi image could have 10 1-pixel images embedded in each lens, but the reality is the lenses are slightly off, so no matter how i adjust it, one single image is never quite visible. it's still a cool effect, but it's been driving me nuts.
lately, i'm getting better results with five double wide images, rendered with a slowly moving camera with a aim-at constraint in the middle of the subject.
the software i use is free, but you have to beg for it from the publishers. i don't have it here, but i think it's called superflip. if I have the install file, i'll let you know.

version 14c runs well on my vista... that's not an issue.
-jon

it works with vista.
provide more info, and maybe someone will help it work with your vista.

sorry, you're going to have to model your own nipples. other than that, click the link above.

update: if you need help modeling them, just ask.

the latest version is 15, so unless you recently paid $300 for a cd, you can't use that downloaded application.
what is the last version number you've purchased?
-jon
-
which version are you on?
vista alone isn't the problem. i'm running 14c fine on vista... both before and after service pack one.
do you have any cd emulator software running? that's usually bad.

any spline that's doing the same thing as it's neighbor is usually just extra baggage.
if that face isn't going to get much more complicated shape-wise, you should remove at least half of the splines along the cheek and chin.
... hooks are your friends, but so is simplicity.

the only non-deleteworthy comment i can offer is: talk to hash inc.

what about a simple two-point gradient, assuming the surface defined had a single hue?
as a toon lover, this would be a huge improvement, since i don't care about textures.
as i said, it is an impressive achievement, and since this is a personal project, you don't have to please anyone other than yourself. ' ' )

that's impressive code, but by rendering at the pixel level, you're using none of flash's strengths.
do you have any plans to render models using vector-based shapes for near-color areas?
that would kick serious booty.

my glass is half full... of donkey drool.

thanks for the feedback folks, and hi rodney!
i have had trouble loading old models into recent versions, but also my subscription lapsed a few months ago.
i saw that friendly paid-for cd, and thought it could help.
drm is the gift that keeps on taking.
