  1. Ok Ken pointed out some things and I feel he has a good point I not sure if you both have the same idea as to how to act this out but I am feeling that Trot and Bill are not angry nor frustrated with SC long speach they find it amusing and there smiling at each other about it not scorning SC. I am trying to create gestures and motions that comminicate that Trot is slightly annoyed but she laughs it off and Bill is of same mind set. But here is another attempt I also like to thank the commentors because if what I am trying to create is only readable to me because I created it with an out come in mind that I failed to comminicate or act out what I have in mind and that I need this feed back Thanks!

  2. I'm still not convinced the reaction of Trot and Bill is working. Bills in particular seems a little too un-natural.....it's like he's merely telling Trot/audience that he's "frustrated" rather than actually feeling it himself. I think it's the right hand gesture that's the problem and feel that if he just put that one on his hips too, it would look better. There's also some unusual mouth shapes on scarecrow. But move on.

I think you are right the right hand gesture is not working. I did not want to make a symetric pose with both hands on hips I think I rework the right hand gesture? Lip sync is my weakest part of Animating IMHO I look at it again but I sure it can be improved on but maybe I re-look at it after doing more lip sync I can be more effecient use of my time.

On the blocking of the next shot, there are a few strange poses. I'd make them more natural first. For example, with the first one where his left arm is out stretched, I think lowering his forearm would make it feel less constrained. Either that or raise his upper arm. Then in the next few poses, his hand is rotated the wrong way. They may be like that to anticipate the next move, but it's better to get your poses working and then do the inbetweens.

This needs redoing big time or should I say redone to be smaller  I think starting over might be in order for that next camera motion. I really missed that up IMHO

  3. Ok onto next camera view and I starting with SC but I think I really made these Inbetweens TOO large this time? THis is just breakdowns of body motion no facial or detail to other parts just trying to get arcing and ease in and out right but I thinking a really made this too big but I see what it looks like tommorow.

  4. Movies are non-interactive - but they don't have to be.
So how are we going to change that? is TWO or SO going to be made interactive and if so How?

Movies are usually declared "finished," called "art," and left forever in that frozen state - but they don't have to be.
Well once it's sold other than remakes years later what do you have in mind?

Movies have a single throughline, wiith the "Director's" interpretation of the sequence and number of vignettes that tell the story - but they don't have to be.
Directors keep a movie going in a consistant direction that an audience will or hopefully realate too.

Movies are limited by how much the Producer is willing to spend on them - why?
So they make money look at Water World great movie but lost Millions is that finacial success? No people lost there shirst on that made less than 1/3 of production costs

Whether you are "lazy" (bad word for you) shouldn't dictate how the audience watches or enjoys the movie.

I'm nothing if not an iconoclast: just because "people always done it like that" doesn't me we HAVE to!?

Ok lets us all in on your master plan then
  5. Great ideas guys I really like this input please keep it coming! I gave Ken's ideas some hard thought but I wanted to try this idea out and see how this works first. My thoughts are to keep Trot as the main Character and have bill react to her gesture and I agree I had too simalar poses so I want to make them different but have bill not steal the scene from Trot. Trying a smaller combo of entire 17 seconds I changed the timing of both characters like Nancy pointed out.

  6.

What is it about the camera angle that you don't like?

    Thanks again for commenting.

    George

Sorry I see what you are doing here and it's a good idea to show Pessim's view point and the difference in there scale but what is bothering me about this camera view is that you are showing underneath of TM loin cloth and he might feel self conscious about the fact that behind it there is nothing :D I know I would :P I think we should avoid camera angles that show possible embarasing positions for your charaters to be in. But this is just my take on it.

  7. I personally would move it slightly so the small charaters head is blocking TM groin

Mark, thanks for the input but because depth is 2D with the illusion of 3D, I don't think it would be a good idea to put Pessim's head in front of TM's groin. It might look a little strange don't you think?

    George

    LOL True LOL

I just thought that maybe a different angle might be better and that was a quick but not good suggestion but I would look for a way to avoid what you have now IMHO.

  8. By this I mean Trot is reacting 1st and her gestures show annoyance to SC long talking sseelf proclaiming speach. Bill reats to this gesture of trot and agrees with trot but if bill responding gesture is too large it takes the audeinces attention away from Trot and onto Bill. Maybe maybe not? Any acting students out there? what are your thoughts on this?

I'm not an acting student, but these are my observations & impression of your last clip:

When I first viewed it, I didn't understand what was going on.

Now after reading your explanation of intent, it appears to me that both Trot's reaction to SC, and Bill's reaction to Trot happen too soon.

Perhaps it would read better if Trot waits until SC finishes saying "a superior quality" and then Trot rolls her eyes, as she turns to look at Bill (maybe shaking her head in a "no" gesture as she turns as well), and then Bill reacts to her, with some indication of agreement with her body language. As it is now, their reactions to each other seem to overlap, and the audience gets confused as to whom to watch, and why they are moving.

    Good job, as usual Mark.

Thanks Nancy that's exactly the type of help I am looking for! I relook at this and see if that helps the one thing I might ask if you go farther back on this post to V85 that has 12 sec of SC talking and this camera shot (same Scene but different camera view) is of Trot and Bill reacting to SC 12 seconds long speach about himself. Would you please join that to this and see if you still read it the same way? I trying to keep the file sizes small so I doing just the parts I am working on at the moment. I look at this also and I like someone else opinion sometimes I get to close to things and miss stuff thanks.

  9. Worked on arcing bill motion but i am wondering if this motion is too large?

I don't think so. (Can motion really be "too large" in this situation?)

Ths depends on what character you want to be leading this shot. I thinking that Bill motion if to large it takes the scene away from Trot and I am thinking of what Bill Taylor told me is that a scene says one thing and one thing only. I wondering if each scene should also have one main charaters thoughts leading the scene.

  10. There is one camera move that is moving by one frame I think that is what you talking about minnor fix. But I want to suggest altering the 2 shots were the camera is behind the small character looking at TM. I personally would move it slightly so the small charaters head is blocking TM groin

  11. I'll hang in there as long as there's a chance we'll be a "movie company" but when the participation gets down close to zero... Poof! (I'll be gone.)

    Were will you go? :D

    Look at quality not quanity.

    We are getting better.

We are fewer Particapants then TWO which so far has not sold. So the speed at which we create is not important if we are truly trying to be a "Movie Company" then we have to make sure what we are doing is the best we can do. In Two you said that if you asked someone to redo or improve they would leave. Then you stopped asking and took what was given you understandable. But the end result IMHO is a potentialy good movie with alot of things needing fixing. You sent me a Screener Ver. of TWO and I showed it to an open minded audience (IMHO) the first commment was "Oh my God there going to fixe this right?" I asked (Already knowing) what this person was talking about and I was right Scare Crows hat dynamics flipping all over the place was visual torcher and made it almost unviewable to me and the audience. That was just one example but it realy shows that Speed of production does not make a happy audience. I know you do not see it that way and you are not interested in making a "Perfect" movie but it's all these things added up which takes away people willingness to set through it. Over All the Audience thought it was Pretty good but there is alot of fixing and editing to do.

And another thing you can't quite it's just not you ;) Now get back to cheer leading us (go team go)

  12. Ok Thanks Robert I saw those straight paths at start and arced them and I fixed the hand not moving into head when he points at head and I snaped the B and P of lip sync. I also altered the decide pose to be more dynamic so I going to call this 1st 12 seconds done and go onto next camera move.

    2_03_02_V82.mov

  13. If you have a CRT monitor I would invest in a dry ease marker and place dots on the screen tracking the characters nose or head. The head motions of these characters are traveling in straight lines which in most cases things that take away the feel of living things. We generally move in arcs and machinery in linear paths if you arc these charcters motions you see that they will start to feel more alive. This has been Keyframed and the next task is Inbetweening it and this is the stage were we put thes arcing motions in.

  14. made the last few changes and uploaded the files to svn... there is some weird shoulder popping at around second 8 i couldn´t get rid of... don´t know where it´s coming from... but it´s only one frame after a camera switch so the first to frames of the new camera view could be simply deleted as well...

Those shoulder plates (for lack of correct name) have a bone that can be used to correct them I believe they are hiden by default but you can find the bone for them and correct it is it ok if I look at your work and maybe I can create a video showing you how?

  15. Ok I talked to Martin and I got some clarification on this Process and I needed to Animiate something badly (well hopefully the animation is not bad  ) Just needed to do something other than keyframing this long scene so I worked on body motion between 3 key frames I need to sync lip sync I think that is 2 or 3 frames late but this is what I have so far. SVN for chr shows sc01 and sc02 but svn .mov shows sc01 sc02 and sc03 which is right?

  16. ...sometimes I worry that people are taking them as too abrupt (I don’t type as much in the personal ones) ...

They're not too abrupt; you're just taking our non-responses as too brief.

Hi Roger I did not know you were with us I have not seen any posts from you latley?
