Hi Gene, how did your cloth work turn out?
-
Thumbs up to that, I liked it.
-
Rob
I have always hat rouble with cheeks, mouths and eyes.
He has beady eyes, fat cheeks and little mouth so I would like to see how you handle these areas.
Even Dimples.
-
Marching in a parade great job.
I have played with walking for 2 years now and still cannot get it as good as yours, nice job.
-
Beautiful job.
-
You do such great stuff.....hope to be as skilled as you some day.
-
Now thats just about as cool a thing I seen all day!
-
Good morning Gene, been sucking down coffee for a while so I started playing with your model.
I didn't know about the spring stuff in your chor. so I just took the model and made some changes for cloth.
I hope this helps.
-
Gene could you send the project here? I would really like to see how you got that action like cloth without cloth.
Makes me wonder if it could be a Force like the flag tut. or some other plugin.
I see 2 models in your picture, could there be something on that model......very curious...
But to answer your question I would create a deflector in your Materials and put it on legs group just to see what happens.
-
Looks good SPLEEN, I been playing with cloth for a good while now and and when you make a chor. (like Rob said) in the plugin/simcloth you can turn the time to off and then set new times.
I always START at a -15 frames (to give the cloth time to settle) and END time to when ever you want.
I start a simple animation at frame 5 so then if there is a deflector it has time to prepare to meet it.
on the model (legs) make a deflector for that...
Materials/SimCloth then change to Def.
Now when you set up the Chor./Plugins/ set the Colision Tolerance to like.50 or .25 this is the distance between the cloth and the deflector.
Then Simulate
Attached project look at the settings for the cloth material

Great Stuff!!!

Thanks tanassi,
Just got it and have been looking at it and see so many things that will help me with my models.
Folks it is stuff like this, from more experienced people that will help us all see the things we need to do to get better.
I have sit and worked on a simple pair of shorts for weeks, then suddenly it all clicks from previous problems, BAM there it is.
All you folks here on this forum have helped me so much and I consider you all my friends.
So a BIG THANK YOU to you all.
As for the topic of this discussion, learn, study, practice, practice, practice. Looking and studying others tuff helps but you will not learn it unless you work at it.
These are a couple of my latest projects, a long way to go but getting there.

Thats about creepy, nice!!!!!

Take a look at Woodland Park, Colorado; Just west of Colorado Springs. Most awesome place I have ever lived. Beautiful!!!! Winters not quite as tough as Wyoming but can get hard. Air is clean and clear, water sparkles, wild animals, like Elk, Bears, wild boros, huge dear...... I lived there about a year and would go back in a heart beat if I could swing it.
Just my 2 cents

Thats a lavalamp if I ever saw one, nice!

Now that is sweet, lots if ideas there

As an avid Start Trek Fan, can only say WOW! WOW! WOW!

You forgot to put ALL THE ABOVE on the list.
So guess that is my vote.
Several in particular I would like to see and learn.
-
head, orient like, neck or neck to head,
hand to forearm,
I used the mirror bones plugin and noticed in the Groups there is a
CPs without mirror
and
Unassigned CPs
would ehat have anything to do with it?
-
The bones are not hidden and they are, if I understand right, not in a one bone chain. It is a simple straight forward rig with no fancy extra bones, some attached others not but for some reason I am unable to select the bone need for a constraint. Some times most of the bones will show up in the list of tatgets sometimes just a few will.
It's a mystery to me.
-
Just made a simple rig and was watching 'building first rig' by HomeSlice.
Got to the point to do my Constraints, when I try to pic target bone it does not select the one I choose, so I go to select target
and the needed bone (s) do not show up in the list.
I'm sure it is something simple i have missed.

A quick question, when new users buy the program, ( disc or sub.) don't they have to register with e-mail address before it will work?
If so would AM have those? So some one could create a message or promotion of AM Forum and send it to them.
Just a thought to encourage new users to visit or join the group.

Thanks for the observations and advice Darkwing I have always had trouble with eyes and mouths so that a cheek will look right.
I'll do some adjusting and move forward.
Thanks
Organics are tough to do for sure, to make them look right.
