  1. Hi guys

    NVIDIA Geoforce GT 120 521

I can duel boot and have tried it on an early version of Mac os with the same results (same computer)

I do have a 2006 mac pro i could try and run some tests on there

    Mac Pro (early 2009)

    OS 10.10.5

2.66 GHz Quad Core Intel Xeon

    18 gigs ram

I hope this subject stays active and more mac guys chime in so this could be resolved

  2. sorry there is no audio
but here is what it looks like on a mac
import jpg tag and png files using the Q key quick render trick
and this is just for rotos fixes same thing would apply to decals

note this test was using V13 (my last version was V18 ) however it does not matter what version of AM I use from 13 on it is the same
I had to stop using AM altogether because of this

and I would love to have it fixed so I could use the newest version

in the meantime I use 13 in frustration (:

  3. Working with images on a mac either Rotoscope or Decals can be and will be a pain

and it will not matter which type png, jpg, tga ect...

you are going to run into problems especialy when you start to use more then one

There is a cure (disclaimer at least for me)

use the quick render button and scroll over the image that is giving you the problem

you might have to do this several times but it will bring all your decals and projections back to normal.

    there is an however

when you go to another window and comeback you might have to do the quick scroll trick again

this is the only thing that works on my end and I've tried them all

If I were to make a guess as to why this is happening on the mac end

it has to do with the video card

Final thoughts it would be so so nice that the powers to be would get around to fixing this and or at least tell us

mac people what they are using on their

  4. Hi

check to make sure you are exportng the correct range of your timeline (just incase )

and try using animation as your export setting ( you can adjust your frames per sec to match )

  5. I did but for some reason when i copied it over it was showing up as 2013

(which i did not know until the text edit trick you guys gave me today)

so when i tried to open it just said expired which of course made no sense

I wish I knew what happened to cause this in the first place (:

oh well we learn by crashing

    thanks again all

    j

  6. ok

well I used the text edit to look at that master.0lic and yep the copy was 2013

so I made a new copy from v16 moved the copy to v18 and deleted the old v18 master.0lic ( it opened! fingers crossed that all is well )

Thank you so much everyone the forum comes threw again

    I'm back to work

    Jim

  7. Hi

Last week I lost the ability to open v17 and v18 in mac Mavrik and mac Yosomite

the problem started after taking a break and relaunching (up until then no problems)

I can use v16 but v16 will not render any files even though it says render complete

(to clarify the render issue v16 goes through the render process says complete but I cannot locate the files anywere

I suspect the the master0.lic thats my only guess

and I'm not do to expire until 2-2016

I did the usual disk management on my drives

and tried moving the master0.lik to v17 v18 but they fail and crash on load

I did send an email to tech support but as of yet no and,

    so I'm here

    Thanks all

    jim

  8. Hello

I am using the newest version of AM and here are my specs

    Mac Pro (Early 2009)

    Mac os version 10.10.3

    2.66 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon

    18 GB 1066 MHz DDR3 ECC

NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 512 MB

The new version is not very stable nor are all the others versions using 10.10.3

it works when it wants to and then it dose not

It would be a good idea to get the specs from Steffen as to what machine he is using

so at least we are all in the same ballpark

T'm a big fan but it is a pain

  9. I've been using AM for theatre productions

here are some screen shots the backgrounds image are all AM (in-fact all the art work was done in AM)

and the actors work with the AM characters on screen

you can see the inter action by going down to the itty bitty plant song

Childrens books made easy interative ibooks and audio books for children

The only downside to the production was the front projection

so creative lighting was called for that being said (:

    bottom line aM awesome!

  10. Thanks for the heads up Rodney!

I managed to get a copy of HitFilm2 Express during their give-away promotion, so it will be interesting comparing the two editors in terms of feel and ease of use. Lightworks still being a Beta it might possibly be unfair to focus to much on technical abilities and comparisons between the two just yet.

Looking at the release notes for the Mac version this is definitely a Beta version but still worth a tryout I think.

I would note they say its only been tested on Mac OS 10.8 and 10.9

I have the full version of Hitfilm for mac (it's not a beta ) it is like after fx does a great job of composting

3d model import from am works no issues so far

it also has film editing built in with sound meaning unlike after fx you can here the audio playback

    Pros

does a real good job of

    color correction

    composting like after fx

    3d import of models

    camera tracking

    cons

it uses your video card so you better have a good one

it will chug if the project gets too big

  11. That's pretty good! It does seem like the camera stops abruptly before the end of the shot, though.

I was playing yesterday with an old shot from a home movie my friends and I made back in 1987. There was one shot with a mirror on the wall and as the camera moves, you can see my friend who is operating the camera in the mirror plain as day. I'd always wanted to replace it with a painting or something and after stumbling on something about tracking decided to give it a try. I was using Mocha AE with the idea of just replacing the rectangular mirror with a 2D image. The problem I ran into was that the camera work was very erratic, there wasn't really anything I could use as a tracking marker that would survive the shot. The mirror's image was constantly changing, so that confused the tracker, too. To be honest, though, I think even if everything else would have worked, I was still dealing with video taken from a 25+ year old VHS tape that was probably 3rd generation to begin with.

It would be fun to have something like Syntheyes just to make fun videos for my nephews, but at $300, that just isn't gonna' happen in my current financial state. :-)

"That's pretty good! It does seem like the camera stops abruptly before the end of the shot, though."

yes but not because of the app and the green screen footage was not something i would use, again just a test

I just wanted to blow threw it and was not too concerned about all the details

however I did want to see what kind of looks i can get so I placed a bunch of obj's and images along the way

    The cool thing

I"m very impressed on just how well AM works with all this

    it such a time saver

    heres another test shot

    green screen girl and birds

everything else AM models dropped into Hit Film and yes she is tall!!

  12. Hi

    I've been experimenting myself

and Blender seems to works well as a motion tracker ( it does not export data to AM )

how ever models made in AM work great in Blender so I just go back in forth

here is a ruff test I made using

Blender for tracking AM for the roof model and build board Hit film for green screen

The girl was the track she was green screened and had camera motion so she is the foundation

again this a test not meant for final

that being said it was easy to do and I had no idea how to use Blender or exporting AM objects up until this test

bty I put some of the obj on the roof for the heck of it just to see what I get (:

  13. I have the full version of Hitfilm

it is an excellent program and works well with AM models

I do have after fx and its kinda the same

the extra bonus is the movie editor and being able to use sound

also Mocha for camera tracking, excellent particle render and much much much more

Here is a test render of a project I'm testing

The billboard is AM along with the roof the girl is a green screen capture background simple jpg

    botom line I like it

oh and there are a bunch of tuts

  14. So I suspect this is another Mac only bug but has any one else found that in v18 & v18a in Bones Mode that none of the bones are coloured?

Also a strange inverted representation of the model's bones, composed of circles?

Before I file a bug report I thought I would see if others have had problems too.

Here's some screen shots of what I consistently see in v18.

you are correct this problem is in 18 strange bubbles and all but not in 17

the bubbles were more noticeable in the action window

    I would say it's a bug
